Ok girls...WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO COLLECTIVELY TO HELP JODI?????
My daughter said to me-"I saw a thing on FOX TV about a girl in San Marcos that had CA and her husband lost his job"---is THAT the same girl that you told me about...JODI---if you are seeing this WHAT can we do -because I think we should rally for this cause... PLEASE let me know what I can do--call me at 760-535-6900.
Sincerely,
Sylvia
-
I just went back and read the article in the North County Times about Jodi - I'm in to help, too!
Sylvia - glad to hear the good news on your tests. Also, I don't knit, but I do crochet. Michaels sometimes offers craft classes and I'm sure knitting is one of them.
Did anyone get out and enjoy this beautiful weather? I took Friday off - played some tennis with my 11 year old. Today I did some yard work. It was like a summer day - loved it! My radiologist said to watch the sun, so I'm lubed up with SPF 50 and SPF 70. I don't think any harmful rays can get through this stuff
Have a Happy Easter.

I was hoping Jodi could join us this month for our luncheon. I could give her a ride and we could split her lunch between us. What do you say Jodi? Want to join us for some fun and friendship next Saturday?
Happy Easter everyone. I have a cold and dh and the boys went camping in the desert. I rarely left my bed yesterday. I suppose I should get up today though.
Looking forward to seeing everyone next week-end. Are we still at 6? If I go back a page I will lose my post.
-
Yep it looks like 6 for sure and possibly 2 more. Who else will be joining us?
-
Splitting Jodi's lunch is no problem at all - after all, we'd all get to play with Zoe!
see you guys next week - at what time????
TX3 on Friday - suffering from chemo brain big time.
susan -
I think we decided on 11:30 to avoid the lunch rush.
-
Hi ladies. Yes it's really 4 a.m and I have been up for a few hours. Sometimes chemo gets weird on me with sleeping.
I am literally sitting here crying. It has been really 'different' lately. We have had such an outpouring of love and support. It is so weird to be in this position. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve everything being provided to us. It's just pride, I think.
We feel so blessed to have not only our family and friends supporting us, but the whole community of San Diego. The article in the paper was just the beginning, and unfortunately had a lot of mistakes. The Fox 6 was much better and told the 'real' story. Yes, my dh was laid off right after Christmas, but never tried to find work again because of all my health issues and the baby coming and being in the NICU.
It has been difficult financially, but also emotionally. We are dealing with so much in such a short amount of time. I was only dx in Oct. 07. It's just been a horrible 'ride'. So much emotion that I've never had to deal with, ever in my life. It's so hard to look at my daughter and think that maybe she will have to grow up without me. How do I deal with that? It's so difficult, and she is so beautiful and innocent. How much time to I have with her? Every day is a blessing and a gift.
Having all this support really makes it easier to bear. I won't be going back to work. I want to do things with my family and friends. I want to make memories with my baby and husband. Someone gave me a hard time the other day for wanting to take the baby to Disneyland, saying, "she is too young to remember that." I said, "We are making memories for ME right now, not her." What 35 year old should have to say that? I went to Kentucky to visit family and just got back a week ago. That is somewhere I never would have gone before all this. Family was nice enough to get the plane ticket for me. Everyone has been so nice. The word THANKS barely begins to scratch the surface for how we feel. Every moment of every day is a gift.
Sorry to vent so much. I think I needed to do that. I'm really looking forward to meeting you all. I think I need to meet you. It will be good for me. So... Yes, I will be coming to lunch... with Zoe. Can I follow you down?
Much love, Jodi
-
(((((Jodi))))) We are here for you dear sister. Please come and feel our love. You can either follow me or I will pick you up. Sylvia and I will be riding together. PM me your phone number and we can figure it out.
Melia-Are you coming? We miss you so much.

I am soooo excited--I cannot stand myself!!! It will be wonderful to meet you and Zoe and I hope you can put up with all of us mother/grandmother types!!!!
Sounds as if you have had way more thrown at you than anyone ever should have or could possibly deal with---and you are still here!!
By the way...a dear friend of mine sent me this awhile ago and if I can attach this link --I think it might speak to all of us---I found it extremely inspirational.. (you will have to copy and paste into a new browser--I couldn't get it to auto link for you)
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8577255250907450469&pr=goog-sl Anyway--it is hard to believe that it is the end of March already---Brenda--p/m up at 10:30 or so?

What a great video... made me laugh and cry. I needed that. There is truth in what he says...
Cheers, Jodi
-
Sylvia-What an inspirational video. Thank you for sharing.
-
Jodi -
anybody who gives you a hard time about anything - Disneyland or whatever - is not to be worried about. I'd say I'd beat them up for you, but I'm so tired, I'd probably fall down if I tried to punch anyone.
Looking forward to meeting you and Zoe on Saturday.
susan -
I am back...tennis was fun and the desert was hot....I loved it!!
See you Saturday...
-
Hey Ladies
Just checking in. I am fine, just exhausted. Would it be a major problem if I brought my daughter on Sunday? Can't find a sitter.
-
Lisa, since I think I may be the only one who has had the privilege of spending several hours with your delightful daughter, I believe I can confidently say it would be NO problem whatsoever if Gabriella were to join us. Glad you are recovering slowly but surely.
SoCal - Indian Wells Convention and Visitors Bureau is going to make you a fat offer to join their staff once they see that collage!

Starfish-Where is that chocolate place? Hopefully close by.

Hi all,
I won't be there on Sat. My husband is having surgery on Friday April 4, and we are going away this weekend. Have fun!
Melia
-
Melia-Sorry to hear about your husband's surgery. I hope everything goes well. Enjoy your week-end away. We will miss you. Seems like it has been way to long since you could join us.
-
Hey all-
Brenda it is 2048 and I do not have your phone number---but if you want to do anything different---just call me--otherwise I'll expect to see you at 10:30 am!!
Sorry we won't see you Melia--I think we only met once ---maybe next time--

I am currently coughing up a lung.
Thanks to my take-no-prisioners immune system, I have not had a cough in 10+ years, so this is a unique experience. I've been coughing so hard the last 5 days that I've started to have to hold onto my foobs
- those last 14" of stitches are less than 6 weeks old! Of course, after 3 days, becoming short of breath, it had to be lung mets. But I guess it's just a creeping crud. Which I don't want to share with sisters in chemo or sweet baby girls or sweet half-grown girls. If I wake up tomorrow feeling super, I'll be there, if not, I'll be home sulking. And trying not to break a rib.
Lots of pictures, please!

Brenda:
The chocolate place is within walking distance on the same street.
We'll miss you, Melia! I hope your hisband is on the mend soon.
-
Hi everyone,
Looks like I'm going to miss the get together this month. My son is in a school play and the only day/time we can get tickets for is Sat at 1pm. I'll miss you all, but have fun and enjoy the little ones
.
On a good note - I finished radiation yesterday - YEAH me!! I was officially back to work today - bummer!!
And, my eldest son got accepted to all the colleges he applied for - YEAH again. He's narrowed it down to UC Santa Cruz and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. We're very proud parents.
Have fun tomorrow and I'll look forward to seeing everyone next month.
Lisa #3
-
Lisa..so sorry you will miss tomorrow..
Congratulations to your son!!!
Two of my three sons graduated from UC Santa Cruz and one from UC Davis...
Hasta manana...
-
Oh man. 2 of the Lisa's won't be there. Bummer.
Sylvia I need to pick you at 10:15 so we can meet Jodi at Big Lots on Sycamore. I will call you in the morning.
-
Well, here we all are...we did have fun and met a new baby!!! and her Mom, Jodi...and the daughter of Starfish..a real beauty!!!
Sylvia, Guitargirl, Jodi , Starfish, JMD and me...
We certainly missed all our ladies who were other places..and hope to see them again next month....
Cheers..
-
Thanks for the wonderful time friends. It was great to visit with everyone. The food was so good.
Starfish-That chocolate place was great. Try the hazelnut next time it was so good.
LisaSDCA-I hope you are feeling better today.
Missed everyone who was not there. Who is taking charge for next month. Jodi mentioned a friends new place in Del Mar. Maybe you can send us their web page link or something Jodi.
-
What a great looking bunch of chicks! How was the pizza? I sure could have used a medicinal chocolate dose, myself. Thanks for the hazelnut recommendation, BMD - it's pretty close by once I get better.
And wait - Lisa/Starfish - Can that possibly be your own hair already?!? Whatever it is, it looks FAB. I can't imagine that your own would have grown enough to be in a 'style' already - if so, tell me who you see or what supplements you are taking!
Love you all
Lisa
-
Hi everyone... what a great time I had yesterday! It was great to get out and meet you all. Thanks again for lunch.
I would love to coordinate for next month. Let me check with my friends. I'm not sure if they have a website??? I do know that it's called Crepes and Corks... he makes the most amazing crepes. Both 'dinner' and dessert. They have a really nice patio out front (in the shade) that would be nice if the weather is good. I'll look into it and let you know.
Don't fret, I pop on and look more than it seems. Sometimes I'm just a lurker
. So, I will check in soon and let you all know about the place in Del Mar.
Love ya... Jodi & Zoe
Oh and for those of you that are interested here is Zoe's website.
-
Yep! That's my own hair! And it's wicked curly, too.
Crepes sound awesome!
-
Jodi-If it is to much for you to plan a month just let us know. One of us can step up and do it. With a new baby I did not have time to do anything but be mommy and sleep when that baby slept.
Starfish-The guy at Chi Chocolat was right. I have not shared one bite of that chocolate bar with anyone. I try to only have one bite a day. It is so delicious. I must go there and try that Chi Chai.
Susan-Thanks for all the pictures. They were great.
I know I can't make it on April 19th if that turns out to be the next date. Our karate studio is putting on a Nationals tournament that day. I am sure nash is going to be there to. Right nash?
