    I'm so sad for Ferne and praying for all of us on this board.  I wish you all peace and as much comfort as any of you can find right now. Pearl

    I dont know if yall have heard the troubling news but Gina posted this:

    FERNE HAS HER WINGS
    I just got the call.
    Ferne Dixon, my friend and sister, went home to be with God.
    She is no longer in pain.
    She is no longer sick.
    She is strong and happy again in heaven.
    She passed on this, the holiest time of the year. A time that represents the promise of life everlasting fulfilled.
    I will never know anyone like her again.
    She was the finest person I have ever known.
    I don't know why this has happened to someone so wonderful and kind.
    Heaven is a better place, but we are left with a hole in our hearts that won't ever be filled.

    God bless you Ferne.
    I will always love you and I will never forget you.
    Thank you for the joy you gave me and for being my friend.

    Gina has posted about services for Ferne:

    "First she will have her wake and funeral service here in NYC and then there will be a Memorial Service in Rochester. I will have the final plans for that probably later this week."

    Ferne's Arrangements:

    Visiting Hours are this Friday from 4-8 pm at

    Benta's Funeral Home

    630 Saint Nicholas Ave. at 142nd Street.

    The funeral celebrating Ferne's life is at

    11am on Saturday at

    The Harlem Church of Christ

    West 127th Street and Lenox Avenue

    Since I can't attend the services, I'll be lighting a candle for Ferne during the day Friday. Please join me in paying honor to her by keeping a candle lit during the day Friday. God is able, Stephanie
