A Little Scared But Hanging In

Hi Everyone,
I have only posted on these boards a few times with encouraging words. I was dx in 7/05, stage 1 with AC and rads treatment. I am down to yearly mammogram (or that was the plan). I went to my regular doctor yesterday for a 6mo. f/u and damn if she didn't find a lump in the other breast. Now I go for a mammo w/ ultrasound this afternoon. It will probably turn out fine, but my mind has gone back to that dark place. Please say prayers for me and thanks.

Sending you positive thoughts Gorilla. I can just imagine how nervous you are but think B9 thoughts until you're told otherwise. At best it's B9, at worst it's a new primary... not recurrence or mets. For now.... I'm thinking B9. Good luck to you.

I will be praying for you. Don't jump to foregone conclusions is my advice. Many of the ladies here have demonstrated that living life based on what you know rather than what you fear is the best way to live , easier said then done but nevertheless applicable to all of life. Wishing you well.

Praying "big" B9 prayers for you. If you have have this crap again. Let be hormone positive and not NT.

I join my voice to those of the women above in hoping you get the news you want to hear. There are many reasons for lumps in breasts, and most of the time they're nothing to be alarmed about. Please let us know as soon as you find out.
Love,
Annie

Sending b9 hugs your way,

Gorilla: Hugs for you. I know how you feel; in December I had to have a biopsy because they spoted another mass. It turned out to be negative. I hope you get the same results.
Take Care. I am thinking about you.

Hi All,
Well there are 2 spots they want to biopsy - 1 they said is most likely a cyst. The other they are unsure so they will take some tissue and send for pathology. All of this is happening on Monday. I am staying as strong as I can and hopefully will have good news (BENIGN) next week. Thanks for all your hugs, prayers and support. Please keep it coming until I come out the other side sometime next week.

Dear Gorilla: I really hope it's benign, so frustrating this waiting and fear, I so understand how your feeling right now. I'm wish positive thoughts for you. Big hugs,Pearl

Dear Gorilla,
Prayers and hugs are on their way to you. Be thankful, you are getting the docs to move fast and not leave you waiting too long. Hope you can get through the weekend w/o too much fear.
I hate this scary stuff. We should not have to live with fear.

Hi Everyone,
Good news, both biopsies were benign (negative). What a relief. They did both sides, so now I don't have to go for another mammogram for one year! My original diagnosis was in July 2005 so we are considering this passing my 3 year mark! One year of freedom from tests - I am going out with my 17 year old daughter tomorrow for a celebration. Whoo-hoo!!!!Thanks to everyone for their hugs, prayers and support.

Dear Gorilla,
Congrats on your good news and passing your 3 year mark. That's a major milestone! My first check-up after chemo, surgery and radiation they saw suspicious calcifications and I had to have a stereotactic biopsy. That was rough but all was ok. My breast is still sore where they did it (a year ago!)
I have one more year till my 3 year mark (diagnosed on 1/31/06, IDC, 5cm, Stage 2B, 0 nodes). Next month they only mammo my affected breast, October both and then I'm on the once a year schedule. Hooray!
Have fun celebrating with your daughter. My daughter has been by my side through all this - she's 27.

Dear Gorilla,
Great news! Like everyone else, I am thrilled for you.

Great News. And with being a triple negative, I have read that our chances of recurrence dramatically drop after the 3 years mark. So happy for you!
