Just wondering if anyone out there not had rads after chemo. I am almost afraid to ask my Doc. I was going to have rads because my margins were not real clean but then they decided to do a re-excision and I thought they said I could avoid the rads but I'm not sure. Is this normal procedure or do most people have rads? I hope I do not, but I want to do everything I can to get rid of this cancer.

I think the standard is to have rads if you had a lumpectomy or mastectomy with tumor >5cm or 4+nodes.

I had  sentinel node biopsy which showed 2/6 + nodes.

Bilateral mastectomy, clear margins, did not opt to have axillary node dissection since the thought was that 6 nodes removed was enough. But had to have rads now going through it after getting Dose Dense AC+Taxol.

I didn't do rads.  I had bilateral mast w/ recon.  I did 4 dose dose A/C and 4 dose dense Taxol.  I'm on Arimidex now.  I had one positive node out of 4.

    Liz
