-
Thanks Traci, it DOES suck. Who would have ever guessed that the hiccups would hurt? I sure hope I don't have to sneeze! Just the thought makes my eyes water!
Just for fun, I typed "sucks" into thethesaurus and came up with:
alarming, astounding, awful, bad, bummer, daunting, dire, disheartening, dismaying, downer, dreadful, fearful, formidable, frightening, frightful, ghastly, grim, grody, gross, harrowing, heavy, hideous, horrible, horrid, horrific, intimidating, mean, petrifying, scaring, shocking, terrible, terrifying, unnerving, abominable, amiss, atrociousl, bad news, beastly, blah, bottom out, crappy, cruddy, crummy, dissatisfactory, downer, erroneous, fallacious, faulty, garbage, god-awful, grungy, icky, imperfect, inadequate, incorrect, junky, lousy, not good, off, poor, raunchy, rough, sad, scuzzy, sleazeball, sleazy, slipshod, stinking, substandard, synthetic, the pits, unacceptable, unsatisfactory
Just for laughs....

OMG! This thread came JUST IN TIME for a major barfing!
BF Mark and I have been together for 2 1/2 years. It's been like a fantasy from the beginning. Wining, dining, flowers, jewelry, trips, yada, yada, yada....
I finished cancer tx the end of May 05 and we met early Aug 05. He immediately swept me off my feet. After 20 years in a thankless, sexless marriage it was a dream come true for me.
So last week we're on vacation in Key Largo, on the boat when we're going out to scuba, we start butting heads. What he perceives as constructive comments, I take as bossy and controlling. This activity continues for three days.
Then I put in the straw that broke the camel's back. We went to Key West on Wed. and I got a tattoo. It's horriby offensive. A palm tree at sunset.
Apparently, a tattoo is a deal breaker with Mark. Who knew? I had mentioned maybe getting one before, and he never expressed his disgust.
Well dammit! I'm 45 years old, and if I want a tat of a palm tree on my upper right shoulder, by God, I'm gonna get it!
Okay, thanks for listening sisters. Just needed to vent.
Donna

Deb - Hey girl! I've been thinking about you and praying for you. That definitely SUCKS that you're having pain.
Your definition of "sucks" sums it up, huh? I love "sleazball" and "the pits".
-
Donna - how perfectly beastly* of him! And what an atrocious* way to discover that your desire for bodily adornment was a dealbreaker!
In other words, THAT SUCKS!!!

Donna, I think that sounds like a great tattoo. I think some tattoos are extremely pretty. I just don't have the guts to endure the pain. Maybe I'm a coward but I prefer to think of it as an allergy to having those thousands of tiny needle pricks. Are you going to post a pic?
-
Yes! This has become one of my favorite threads. I must check here everyday. And despite all of our trials and tribulations - I tend to smile, giggle, and sometimes laugh at some of the comments.
My bitching is minor compared to others. Here I am whining about having the flu! Yes it was influenza B, then giving it to my husband. The house is a mess I tell you. Dishes everywhere, floor hasnt been swept, I mean I even had to wash my coffee pot this morning so I could make more.
I hate the fact that chemo has reduced my immune system to putty. What I hate more is that this time, my DH is sick. Darn - he usually does all the cleaning and stuff and he is stuck in bed. That means now that Im feeling better, I will have to come home from work and CLEAN? OMG! I dont even know where the broom is.
Donna: I say power to the woman. How in the world can a tatoo be a deal breaker. Im gonna come over there and punch this guy in the nose. I know it would make me feel better.
DebC: OMG! Im laughing my arse off this morning. Very descriptive terms for sucks.
I had fractured ribs twice - from guess what? Coughing from a cold. So Deb, I do understand the pain. Cant move without it hurting. I never had hiccups, but can imagine what that felt like - not!
Vickster: So good to see you here. It feels good doesnt it. Now Im thinking about your 7 months pregnant looking belly. I just looked at mine side ways in the mirror. Im at about 9 months. Cants suck it in and see my feet!! Or anything else for that matter!
Traci: I loved your summary of what is happening with us so far. What a book we could write.
Off to work.

Hi Ladies,
Deb C, you are a riot. Sorry about your hiccups. What causes chemo to give us hiccpups? I actually have a fear of hiccups because I knew a man who had them forever. That really sucks.
Donna, how silly of him. Sounds pretty superficial. I mean how many people are going to see it except in the summer. My DH hates tatoos but I have one (Pegasus on my shoulder) that is 25 years old. I laugh and say I got one because I wanted to be different. I am a scuba diver too and hope to go to Key Largo sometime soon.
I told my DH about tatooing the nipples. As I am a great cat lover, I thought of having little cat heads tatooed on my nipples. He could not find the humor in that. I am still considering that. Once I get my boobs, I can try and see what it looks like with magic markers. I think it would look really cool! Can't wait to see the look on my PS's face when I run it by him. I may have to visit a tat parlor to get some good artwork!
My bitch this am is having to get up every morning and clean my husband's oatmeal out of the drain. The few times he washes up, I can't get him to realize that includes taking the gunk out of the drain stopper and throwing it in the trash. Uuuggg... plus I had to clean up some cat puke.
Debbie

I think we have an early winner today! Cat puke...hard to beat!
-
hey ladies its 8:54 still in my pj's and don't care........ Deb you have me worried about those ribs. There is a rib band for fx ribs that holds things together to help. Fx my ribs in a car accident and it was the only thing that helped.
Listen ladies medicine today is a business there is no more house calls knowing your family or your life you have to step up and call people on the mastakes they make. Otter please call and get this mess fixed. Its important not to wait .. Do you have a social worker at the hospital working with you . they can help... TERRY
-
Otter...read your PM...Artsee
-
Ha! Yes, an early winner indeed! Nothing like cleaning up cat puke (or any puke for that matter) first thing in the morning!
Debbie - I think the cat heads sound like a riot! And if it's what YOU want to do, I'd just do it. Like Nickie said, POWER TO THE WOMAN! After all we've been through we shouldn't be judged or discouraged by any man!
Here is a pic of the offensive tattoo. Kind of hard to see because of the glare. The artist had just smeared neophorine all over it. This was taken right afterwards, so my skin is still irritated and red. It looks great now though!
-
Casinogirl, that is pretty. Wish I was there! On the beach, not your shoulder! Good thing you found out he was dip. I was told to keep anitbiotic cream and saran wrap on mine for about 10 days. Then the out skin peels off and you have a little piece of skin with a tatoo on it. Keep sunscreen on it, because the sun makes them fade.
Carlin, I never get out of my pj's. I take a shower and put on a clean pair. Today it's pink jammys with cats on them.
Debbie

Nice "offensive" tat Casino girl. if he is the kind of man that would let a tat come between you and him,,glad hes gone.
This is a great thread Traci!
Amy
-
Nice tat Casino Girl!! I love mine!! Was a gift from my BF.
Was your BF there when you got it, since you were vacationing together? Seems like he just all of a sudden invented a deal breaker. He SUCKS.
POWER TO THE WOMEN!!
-
(((Donna)))...I love the tat! Its so pretty. Tell the man to take a long hike off a short pier...grrrr.
(((Deb)))...very gently...I love the "sucks" thesaurus. Describes me to a T today...I have been dieting and exercising my fanny off and have GAINED 5 friggin pounds!
I hate Tamoxifen...ready to start smoking again! (just kidding...too hard to quit). What am I gonna do...starve myself...sheesh.
I am up to 180lbs now...I know that I don't look it (or so everyone says) but thats from 110lbs...I want to be at least back down to 140!
Ok...done whining...anybody see my rose colored glasses?
-
Well, that sucked. Deep sigh.
So I tell this guy who has horrible breath...that he's gonna have to put the needle and subsequently, nuclear sh*t in my foot. He looked at me like I had two heads instead of two implants. I said "bilat mast w/ lymph node removal"....he said "I always put it in the arm" I said "do you have a boss?" Schmuck. Boss apologized and said you "can't blame him for being a man". lol.
Amy....thanks girl. It's nice to have a place to come to and comlain without ramifications.
Vickie....it sucks trying to lose weight. I feel your pain on that one. I got my GP to give me an athletic wrap to wrap my fat gut so I can wear certain shirts! The dog took your rose colored glasses outside.
The PJ comments were funny!! And, I love the cat tattoo idea.!
Nicki.....love the lmao! Love it!
Lisa with the * .... lol!
Today SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm gonna go have a couple of drinks with some girlfriends. C y'all later!
I hope somebody has had a suckier day than me so I can feel better!
Traci
-
ps Donna...cool tattoo.
-
Traci, that SUCKS! I'm with the pj girls. It's been over a week since I said I had to go shopping for clothes and I'm still sitting here in my comfy pj's!!! Enjoy your well deserved drinks with the girls. Don't invite me cuz I have nothing to wear!
Donna, told you elsewhere but your tattoo rocks!
-
Otter, wondering about your oncotype ... you had a real good reason to bitch there for sure...
DebC, (((()))) pretty funny! Alot of ugly words for "sucks"!
LisaSDCA, LMAO
Debbie, Cat heads ... omg, I want to see those if you ever get them done!
Terry, Damn straight, we Have to be our own advocate, unfortunately!
-
Traci - sorry you had such a SUCKY experience today. Did you say "Shcmuck, you SUCK!" Good for you for getting the shmuck's boss involved. Hopefully, she will provide some badly needed education.
Vickie - I hear ya on the weight thing girl. And that's a good idea Traci about the athletic band thing for the GUT. WTF? I've always had a little bit of one even when I was thin, but now, it's taking over, getting bigger and bigger and out of control. I'm going to check out the athletic band idea!
Amy - thanks! great to see you here!
I have been home all day today, having declard a Mental Health day for myself. Speaking of jammies, I'm still in mine and it's almost 5:00 here. I do have "glass class" tonight so guess I'll shower in a few and get dressed.
I've been doing research all day trying to figure out the man. He called this morning and he's all "sweetie, honey" and back to normal now, or as normal as he can be. I told him I was taking a Mental Health day today, but he doesn't know that I have decided to move on . He called again at lunch to "check on me". He is probably getting suspicious that he's getting kicked to the curb. Seriously, I've been reading all day (probably too much) and I wonder if I haven't been dating a psychotic person for the last 2 1/2 years. Who, other than a controlling narcissist would get so pissed about a tattoo, then completely turn off emotionally for a few days? I feel like a fool for having bought into the whole "you're the love of my life" bs. Hey, now that I won't be getting wined and dined on a regular basis, maybe I'll lose a couple of pounds! HA! Unlikely, as the GUT has a very strong will not only to survive, but to THRIVE.
Okay girls, guess my SUCKfest is over for today!
Who's next?
-
Donna, and all you other single gals for that matter. Wait...Debbie! This might help you!! Have y'all ever read the book "Men Love Bitches"? If not, I HIGHLY recommend it.
Talk to y'all later!
-
Traci- I loved this: "Boss apologized and said you can't blame him for being a man"
Why, yes, yes you can!
My gripe. it took 3 days for a coworker to fess up to using my special Nespresso coffee machine & 5 coffee capsules. If someone asks first, that's fine, but to just avail yourself....I have to mail order these things & they were samples I hadn't tried.
Excuse me? Gut wrap? I need me one of those. One of the lovely SEs of adenomyosis is looking like one is a few months pregnant. Not a look I want to cultivate.
Bitchily yours.
-
Bitchily yours roflmbo!
A gut wrap...now that would be just the thing! Do they make them for your butt too?
I am actually serious...I have some great summer dresses that there is no way I can wear like this! Gonna fast for about three days and see if I can drop some pounds!
Damn dog!
-
Hey, sorry everybody....I can't complain today.
After my major explosion over the Oncotype mess-up on Monday, I spent Tuesday rearranging body parts on a number of employees at my onco's office (speaking metaphorically of course--I was working via telephone). AFAIK, the newly cut tissue samples are at Genomic Health by now, although my onco's nurse admitted she forgot to call them (like she'd promised) to ask if the samples had arrived.
I did learn a couple of things:
1) Unlike everyone else in the medical community, pathologists actually answer their telephones. This is probably because they don't expect to be talking directly to patients; and
2) it never hurts to call the hospital's "patient advocate" (a.k.a. "patient ombudsman"). Those folks are almost certainly affiliated with the Risk Management office, whose duty is to keep hospital employees out of court.
So, for the purposes of this thread, I'm terribly sorry to announce that I'm feeling better today. The only thing I can complain about is that I still haven't been able to arrange a consult/2nd opinion/transfer to a new oncologist. I'm still working on that (while I wait some more for the Oncotype results).
I'll go to the back of the line now.
otter

My turn - have yet ANOTHER biopsy tomorrow - second one in 6 months - my friggin boob looks like a pin cushion. WTF!!!
UGH!!!!!!!!!
Vickie - I'm right there with you with the weight gain - I feel like a stuffed pig - I have NEVER weighed this much in my entire life!!! I just don't know what to do anymore.
And if it doesn't STOP raining soon I just might have to hurt someone!!!
Who's next?????
