Trigeek, It is one of the herbs that I took early on in my diagnosis but have since abandoned.....not for any particular reason, just looking to cut out a few things and it lost in favor of something else.  Best wishes

I'm missing something - why is that ironic?  What is Cat's claw anyway?

Hi, I am very familiar with Cats Claw, it is my understanding that this is supposed to be a natural pill from some plant in the Peruvian Amazon, and is supposed to be to prevent cancer, my ex husband use to drink this pill, just as anergy booster and to prevent cancer, and guess what, he developed throat cancer at the age of 38 and passed away 6 years ago, I dont know if this was the cause, but he never smoked in his life.

just wanted to share this story.

I was just reading about cat's claw in a different group.  Angie, so sorry you lost your husband to throat cancer.  I got the impression from what I read that cat's claw is effective in deterring cancers that are hormone driven, such as prostate and breast and ovarian.  The information I was reading I believe came from this site:  http://www.raintreenutrition.com/  And I believe the research was funded by the same people who sell the product, so take that and any other study with a grain of salt.  Doesn't seem like the manufacturers are keeping their distance from research anymore.

The list of benefits seemed lengthy.  Good for the digestive tract, boosts the immune system, acts as a blood thinner, good for cholesterol, .... well there goes my feeble brain.  There was a longer list than that...
