One year ago....
Last March 15, the day before my 44th birthday was when my Gyn found "the lump". It's been one pretty crappy year of surgery, chemo and rads...
I'm now a little more than 2 weeks out of rads. My skin is healed, my hair is short, but curly and cute and I'm leaving in about an hour for a vacation in Florida.
I will be celebrating the end of my bad 44th year and the start of (I hope) a better 45th year on the beach!!!
Wahoo!!

Hey Abbi,
Congratulations! I know it was a long, crumby year for both of us!
I am 44, too, and my birthday is April 21st. I'll be 45!
One year ago today, March 15th, I had my biopsy, removing the bc. When I had my bi-lateral mast, the pathology report showed that all the tissue was NORMAL!!! YIPPEE, so today, I have been CANCER FREE for ONE YEAR!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Hi Abbi,
Have a wonderful vacation and God Bless You.
I'll be undergoing a radical mastectomy on April 1, 2008...and I'm scared and depressed (I'm seeing a therapist, intend to sign up to a local support group, this week..AND I work every day, so I keep my mind occupied...but still....).
Oh, I want to move beyond this so badly! I want my hair to grow back (I just finished chemo --8 sessions, on Feb 21 2008.
As I said, I just want to be totally healthy again...and cancer free----forever!!
I also want to start dating again (I lost my hubby 2 years ago--heart attack---so it's been (as my screen name says)....a "journey."
Here's to wishing all of "us" the best of everything!

Journey,
Welcome! I see this is your first post! No one wants to join this club, but these women are very wonderful, and they really do understand and really do care. I think only someone who has been there can truly understand what we are going through.
Sorry to hear about your loss...
You WILL get through this! Your hair WILL grow back!! Today is my ONE year anniversary of being cancer free! I am here to tell you that you CAN get through it!
I know that I am the biggest chicken, and if I made it through the txs and I am here to say YOU CAN DO IT, TOO!!
Hugs
