Hi all,

I have a question. My pcp dr. isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and she has recommended that I take evening primrose oil to help with the hot flashes...

Does anyone know if it's safe to take this if you have ER+ bc? I know, I could look it up or google it or something, but... I am just too lazy!

PS This dr. also suggested I take SOY.... DUH! THAT IS ESTROGEN! I thought that drs. were supposed to be smart, and they would at least know this VERY well known fact...

OK I have googled EPO, and it seems to be controversial...

I am wondering if this dr. knows ANYTHING??

Tender, I know you probably have the latest info. on this supplement and whether we ER+ bc survivors can take it. I guess until I know something definite, I won't take it...

....sigh....

My oncologist said it is safe....I am er/pr+. Have been taking it for a few months for hot flashes and it does help a little....

I was taking evening primrose oil up until I was first dx'd 5 years ago. My onc told me to stop taking it as it may be contributing to feeding my er/pr+ tumor. Since they're not sure, I'm not taking any chances.
