Hail, hail, the gang's all here and Renee's candy is definitely in jeopardy. Talking about lurking. Have you guys noticed that we have had over 5,000 views?
Mary, I have those kind of jeans and I have a few years on you. I will wear them or anything else I want to. A couple of people laughed when I bought a RAV4. It never even occurred to me that it was too sporty or whatever the heck they thought it was. I liked it and that's what I got.
I have a 2 day appointment this week. I have about 4 things scheduled in cardio.
Hugs and chocolates to all,
Janie -
You go girls! Wear those jeans. I haven't worn jeans in years...(except when a friend made me- I borrowed hers- I couldn't find ones that fit and never tried again.
Janie- great car choice- I drive a Rav4 also! I love it. I had to drive the minivan yesterday and forgot how big and clumsy they are compared to mine. Of course, when the guys are home it isn't so great as they are all 6'2" at least and don't fit in it very well.
I'm trying to stay out of the fudge, but it isn't working. I had it for breakfast dessert again.
Better not forget to take some to the rad techs today.
Renee -
Ya know Janie the problem is my mind is still in my twenties, it hasn't aged but my body is however fifty, in fact 51 on the 20th. so maybe someday my mind will catch up but until then heck, as we all know you only live once and that can be shorter than you expect. SH#T, I have to get a new license by the 20th. Guess I will wear my short wig. OOps, better get to treatment. Took the girls homemade cookies yesterday. Gonna fix a gift bag with a candle and some candy for my last day, tomorrow. Bye,Bye girls, Mary
-
Well girls my dr. said I was done Wed. The tech said today its Thurs. what I was told to begin with. Guess I have 2 more and get in to treat early to get to airport on thurs. like I thought in the first place. Who knows. Gotta get back to work, Mary
-
Mary, now that's a drag. Too bad they just can't give you a double dose on Wednesday.
I'm with you on your mind still being in the 20s. (age, not iq)
my mom never wore jeans until she turned about 68. she just thought they were for kids. now, gasp, she even is known to occasionally wear shorts in public! i, on the other hand, wear jeans just about every day. unless i'm wearing shorts. good thing i'm hidden from the public at work. i'd hate to have to dress up every day.
you guys have a good one. mary, i think you should ask for your treats back from those rad techs. -
Renee, I also love my Rav4. It is silver and fits my body just right. I can step out of it instead of climbing out of it and the back support is good.
I'm afraid my mind is also in the twenties. My kids are all in their twenties (all their parts not just the mind), so I fit right in when they are around. Well, maybe not. They seem to laugh at me a lot....like I have a habit of changing movie titles around. I got mixed when thinking of "Regarding Henry" and called it "Pertaining to Robert."
Mary, I cannot believe you are almost done! How long are you going to be away? I hope you have kabootles of fun.
Warm Fuzzies ladies,
Janie -
You girls have me laughing out loud. If anyone was around they would have me hauled off. Yea, I should ask for my cookies back and take their goodie bags just to say too bad and bring them back home. I made them little candle holders with a scented candle and hard candy, nut and chocolate candy bags. I decorated little snack bags to put candy and nuts in. I got by for $20.00 for 7 x-mas bags. No coffee shops around to get gift certs. Maybe they can look at them but not keep them. Janie I have seen the silver RAV4 and its sweet!!!! You got style girlfriend!! Well my food is done, Later Mary
-
Hi you little candy canes, Janie I hear ya on getting things messed up. I remember when my mom would do that and man-o-man I have become her. I don't know when I transformed or where or why, I just did, its sad but I have to deal with it. I lost it and haven't yet realized its gone. Can't blame that on chemo... Da#n its time for work, No rest for the wicked, or young at heart as we all are. Butternut Rum and Hugs,Mary
-
Just a quick hello before leaving for my two-day appointment. Herceptin and echo today and more cardio stuff tomorrow.
Mary - Congrats on finishing up rads and have a safe trip.
Everybody have a good day.
Warm fuzzies
Janie -
Janie, hope all goes well.
I'm off to work. 12+ hours into Tamox, no side effects - yet.
You all have a good day. If I can force myself, I"'m gonna go walk at lunchtime. (Either that, or shop) -
PJ, shopping always makes walking sooo much easier. Well, gave rad. techs. their gift bags and Dr. and nurse. Had to leave becuse had to take boss to Dr. Have one left in a.m. Gonna get there at 8:15 and catch 55 south and head on to St Louie and hope to be there by 11:a.m. I could of went back up tonight and got treatment but I will just go tomorrow. I will jog over to Springfield and catch 55 and I should be at the airport by noon and leave at 1:30. Everything has to go like clock-work so I have my fingers crossed.I am soo looking foward to this trip and spending time with my daughter. I have to go see two of my grandkids to tell them bye and take them x-mas coloring books. (Saw the other two lastnight) If I am not back tonight and I will try I have to work at 8 then leave from work by 7:15 in the a.m. I will check in on my daughters puter. Hope Janie is having a safe trip and PJ walk and shop its so much more exciting. Renee, don't eat all the candy, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Later you little X-mas wrappers. Hugs,Mary
-
Mary, if you see this before you go, have a wonderful last rads and an even more wonderful trip. Drive and fly safely. Relax. Laugh. All that good stuff.
Janie, hope things are well on your appointment, too! -
Thanks PJ, and girls have great wk. ends. Wish ya all could meet me there, We would have a blast. Hugs and fudge and hot coa coa to ya all, Mary (Ya know its soo funny to see X-mas decorations down there, its palm trees with lights and theres hardly any grass just sand and dirt so it looks so different, doesn't feel like X-mas.)
-
AAAhhh.. to be basking in the sun with Mary! I know she will have a great time, even though it won't look like Christmas.
Janie, how did your 2 day appointments go.
Paula, Did you get lots of shopping in? All ready for Christmas now?
Rads are going well. No sign of burn yet and that's the way it can stay.
I'm trying not to eat all the candies before Christmas. Wish me luck on that one.
Renee -
I'm back. The cardio appointments started with another echo yesterday. I have had one there and two locally and this one since dx'ed. The lst one there was somewhat lengthy. The two here only took a few minutes each. The one yesterday took at least an hour and then she let the doctor view it and took two more pictures. Today I was hooked up to a contraption that compressed and squeezed the fluid out of my arm. It took hours. My arm and hand eventually went numb which is what usually happens, but then it began to hurt more with each compression. Then I was fitted with a sleeve that I am supposed to wear all the time except at night in bed. I hate it. It digs into my arm at the top and hurts. I don't like anything tight anyway.
Mary, I hope you have a great visit with your daughter. Paula, shop till you drop. Renee, I will join you in RADS next week.
Warm Fuzzies,
Janie -
Hey you little x-mas bows, Janie I am so sorry to hear about your arm, I hope it comes along. Renee save some of those goodies for the boys. Pj glad your sister is doing o.k. Whats Nathan wanting this year? My grandsons want playstation games and x-box games, (what else). Its beautiful weather here. I hear its really cold and windy back home. I hate to go back. My spa treatment was sooo relaxing. I got the stone body rub and it was relaxing. The gal asked if I minded a guy doing it and I said no, not if hes hot. She laughed, I may be old but I ain't dead. He was very nice and did a great job. I told my daughter he liked my thong, I knew it would get her, she said she doesn't care to think about that, its gross. Heck I can't stand my pants up my butt for 2 seconds let alone all the time. I so enjoy grossing my children out whenever possible. Its so good to be done. I have blood work Tue. and onky donky apt. Thurs. I will no doubt be done for 3 months. Hope this did the trick. I would hate to think I went to He*l and back for nothing.I wish I could send yous a sunset from here, its soooo beautiful The sky is red and bright blue and orange and yellow. They have the most beautiful sunsets here I have ever seen.I know it would make you all feel good.Well gotta go out to eat, res. at 7:30 so better go get shower. hugs, Mary
-
Mary, I'm glad you're getting some warmth and relaxation. Wish I were there!
Nathan's wanting stuff for his game boy and about a million transformers and legos (for me to step on in the dark). I'm so looking forward to Christmas even more this year.
Big doings here. Got a big sale to go to Sat. and a girls' night out (well, late afternoon, I'm pretty much a party pooper these days) on Sunday. A little wine and who knows what else.
You all take care! -
Hello ladies,
Mary, it sounds absolutely beautiful there, not Christmasy but beautiful nonetheless. The spa sounds heavenly. They had mentioned massage therapy for me and I liked that idea. I think I'll remind them.
Well the technician told me that most people complain about the sleeve rolling up at the top but she didn't tell me what to do about it. The arm sleeve is like thick tight support hose, except for the arm.
Renee, my simulation is Monday. Hope everything goes as smoothly as it has for the three of you.
Paula, did you find any bargains?
Warm fuzzies,
Janie -
I found so many bargains, I'm going back again tomorrow. (Boy, this 50 percent off book sale is like a drug to me...)
Went out to a friend's house with a bunch of girls tonight. Boy, it was GREAT! Fun, food and, OK, bad-for-me drink. (Not too much as my tolerance is way down) But it was fun to get out and not think about things.
You guys take care. -
I'm off to my appointments. Simulation is today. Later girls. Janie
-
Janie, Hope the sim. went well. How's your arm?
Renee, how're you?
Mary, are you back from the trip? Hope it was glorious. -
Rads is going well so far. No pink yet! yippee! This is so much easier than chemo.
Janie- how'd you simulation go today- that is a long appointment!
Paula- How are you feeling now that you are done? and your sisters are ok?
Mary- Did you soak up enough sun to get thru winter?
We had another fun filled busy weekend.
I have presents to wrap and clean up alittle around the house. Ry will be home from Texas Thursday and my niece's wedding is Friday.
Most of the neurapathy is gone in my hands. and the area that infiltrated... I'm learing to live with the discomfort and not having full use of my hand.
Overall well and looking forward to Christmas.
BTW, I haven't eaten all the goodies I made!
Renee -
What a day! I was on the table. My arm will not go that far over my head and I have arthritis in the shoulders so they made a mold with it crooked as far as it would go. My other was taped down. The doctor had an emergency and the technicians were fidgeting about what was keeping her. They finally got me back up because I had been there too long. About that time...you guessed it the doc shows up and apologizes profusely. There was all kinds of commotion and marking and measuring etc. Then I had the CT scans this afternoon with me in the molds they had made this morning. The arm in the bent mold wouldn't go through. They brought the lst two people in and kept calling the doctor. They finally did this that and the other and I went through. My left side was right up against the side to give more room to the right one. It took a very long time. I got sick. When it was finally over I went to the restroom and threw up. Right now my rads is set to begin this week, but that last tech said she didn't know if the doc would accept the ct because of all the modifications etc. I feel much better now.
My arm is ok, otherwise. The sleeve is annoying but I'm getting used to it.
Have a good night ladies,
Warm fuzzies,
Janie -
Hi girls, Home and gotta go to work, The sunsets are still the most beautiful I have ever seen out there. What a temp. change to go from 78 to 35, BURRRRRRR!!!!! Well gotta get to work, Warm toasty hugs, Mary
-
Good morning one and all,
I hope you are all enjoying the holidays and shopping till you drop and filling up on calories.
Hugs and fuzzies. Janie -
BURRRR, Hi girls, Hope everyone is warm and doing good. Janie, Hope all is well, sounds like your getting slowly better. PJ, hey kid bet your busy, its so much fun during the Hollidays with kids. Renee, hows it going? The boys should be getting home soon and it will seem like x-mas then.Well late for work but what the he*l. Later and keep warm especially Renee. Hugs and jolley dreams, Mary
-
Well, we're supposed to hit 21 degrees tonight. Wonderful. Had to run back to Target for the millionth time this week to get some gloves.
Yep, Nathan's out of school Friday (I'm going to his class party that morning) and it'll be the beginning of a fun few weeks. I have most of the week leading up to Christmas off, so we'll do some fun things and make some really fattening stuff.
Back to rad onc in the morning for a checkup. Nothing bad from the Tamoxifen yet. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Keep well and keep warm. -
Greetings ladies. Mary- glad you made it back just in time for the cold weather- Hope you brought back some sunshine.
Janie-praying your rads appt. held after that long simulation process.
Paula- yikes, that's cold for you too. Where in TX are you?
This is my busy weekend with nieces wedding and Ry coming home- I am so excited I can hardly stand it... is it 9:42 on Thursday yet!!! I probably won't get a chance to check back with everyone until Sunday... so here's wishing all of you a great weekend- full of sunshine and happiness.
Renee -
Well, no one has called to change anything and I had them print out a new schedule today from the computer and nothing has changed. So I guess all systems are go for rads tomorrow. I have a cold (I think). I had my Herceptin infusion today and the nurse thought it may be pink eye or sinus infection. It only affects my eye -- red, swollen constantly watering and nose running. The Benedryl IV dried it up for a while and I've been doing over the counter stuff.
I am so jealous. You all are through or almost through with the crappy part and sooo in the Christmas Spirit. No, actually I am thrilled for you. My kids are going to all be in for Christmas so I will be jolly too. One's bringing his girlfriend. She is so sweet. I first met her the day I was dx'ed. My son brought her to meet me. I did not want to say "I'm so glad to meet you, I have cancer," so I actually pulled off not telling them that night and had a nice dinner. A friend of mine was there for dinner and had a harder time pulling it off than I did. The girlfriend went on to her family who lives about an hour from me and I told my son the next day. -
I forgot. It was 32 in JAX this morning. It is a bit brisk!
