I just now got the rest of my pathology report.  I will see a oncoligist tomorrow but could someone shed light on what they think he'll say.  When I was 1st diagnosed they thought my 7 clusters of micocalcifacation (1st mamo just turned 40 Frown) was all DCIS due to 2 biopsy's showed that.  Until I had the mastectomy and she saw the one IDC 1.1 in size.  Before finding that I was told I won't need any further treatment but now wonder if it'll be different.  I'm told I'm stage 1, grade 1 both receptors are positive IHC test for her2 came back 2+ so now they are going to do the fish test.  My 2sentinal nodes were -  Smile.  I know I'll have to see what the oncoligist says but does anyone know if any treatment was needed for others with simial to mine.  I'm thinking with IDC just being over 1cm I may need chemo.

Sorry you have had to find your way to us :(...I hate meeting new people here....

My IDC was 2.4 cm and I did not do chemo....with grade 1, and node neg you should probably request the Oncotypedx testing done on your tumor to see if there would be any benefit to chemo for you..

Keep us posted.....keep a running list of quesitons like this for your next appt with your oncologist....Im thinking you will likely be put on either tamoxifen or one of the AI's depending if you are pre or post menopause.

My mom was Stage 1, Grade 1 she had DCIS with less than 1cm of IDC.  She had mastectomy, clear margins, no node involvement.  Because she was Her2 3+ they decided to giver her chemo, however this was 4 years ago when Herceptin was not given to women who did not have mets....so she was not lucky enough to get it.  She unfortunately was diagnosed last Sept with mets to liver and bones.  So, she didn't really get any benefit from doing chemo after her mastectomy.  She is on Herceptin and chemo now, and it is killing of the mets very fast.  Hopefully they will give you herceptin, it is awesome for shutting down that overexpression.
