Yup you read that right.  My aortic aneurysm grew 3 mm's in 3 months - considered rapid growth, so they want to go in and repair it.  I will have surgery on April 3rd.  I'll probably be out the remainder of the school year - at least that's what we are planning for.  If I end up being able to go back the last few weeks - great.

I'm doing ok with this.  I was pretty crabby, crabby crabby at first, but I'm getting better.  A lot of people ask if it's related to my bc and of course the answer is NO I'm just lucky to be hit with two health issues. Tongue out

The link to my Caringbridge site is below.  Check it out if you want.

(((((hugs))))) to everyone.  I'm sorry I'm not here more.  I do drop in and read and I think of all my sisters everyday!

    Hi Jill,

nice to see a pic of you and the new baby. A year already? It seems like yesterday. Good luck with your surgery.

My youngest has a bicuspid valve and mild dilation of his aortic root too. He is a ssessed each year and so far so good.

    Wishing you all the best

    Hi Jill,

You don't know me but...I just wanted to say hello and I wish you the best and to tell you; a dear friend of mine had surgery for a heart aneurysm... it's been so long I can't remember... 6-7-8 years ago. I'll have to ask her. I talk to her via email all the time. We've been friends since we were in our teens. She's doing great. Better than great. She's a stay at home grand-ma now to an infant and a two year old! (She's 45.)

They are working miracles with heart surgery. I hope knowing that, you keep your spirits up and your fears as down, as low as possible.

    Hugs girl,

    Traci

Ugh! Too sucky, girl, but this will absolutely be the very last of your health problems! For sure. You and I did it in opposite ways, Jill....I had chest surgery and then BC....you had BC and now chest surgery. Does that make us related somehow?

I'll be thinking of you, girlfriend, and sending you a bajillion positive vibes!

    Jill

How surprising to hear that you are having surgery. Doesn't seem fair to have yet another health issue to contend with.

I have wondered how you are doing. Your newest baby is adorable. Bet you are busy.

Please let us know how the surgery goes. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Jill, I must admit it was nice seeing a post from you.  Cant believe you have to go through yet another health issue that to me seems just as scary.  I know you will do fine and sending lots of prayers, hugs, and best wishes your way.

    Jill ~

I can "almost" relate w/ you but not really...I had an MRI and they said I had a 4 mm aortic aneurysm...just the word "aneurysm" was scary..and my Dr. said, it sounds like such a scary term for it but surgery can be quite simple after a CT scan...it was ruled out as MRI's are notorious for giving false readings.

Anyway,  I guess a stent can be placed on your aneurysm to keep it secure...so it won't rupture..this is a preventative measure that is simple...yet know you were blessed for them to find it!  Lots of times people have NO clue until its too late !

Much of Blessings on your surgery !!!  LIKE BC you got another chance for your little one !

Jill, all the best to you with your upcoming op.

    Speedy recovery to you.

My FIL had this done, as his aorta was getting a bit too large for comfort. He was about 75, and pulled thru well.

Let us know how you go on.

    Isabella.
