Happy Belated Bday to Lynne and Marsha!
(Marsha- now I really have to get those cookies down to you. I looked for them last night, but they only had the Coconut Stars and Double Choc, I know you are the Oatmeal girl, so I'll go to the source)
Sam - what sx are you scheduled for and when? I hope you'll be ready to go by April.
Just a quick drop by. I am at work. I am having some terrible computer problems at home. I can't even get it to stay on! I need some major tech help. So if I am not around for while, it's not because I am drinking somewhere (lol)
Hugs-

Happy Birthday! Damn.....I missed the party.
Hey....my OAOA got the mixer thing apart! Consistent, firm but gentle tapping/almost banging, while turning, against the silver part with the fat end of a butter knife while holding on to the glass part.
Man, that Margarita was good!!
Hugs, Traci

Yeah!! That was a well deserved drink! One should not have to work that hard for it. My folks headed back home so I'm picking up the alcohol to make the chocolate covered cherry martini tonight! I work until 10 then I'm headed home for a soak in the whirlpool tub and a drink! I can't wait. It's supposed to snow here so it will be a great night for it.
Christine - Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Cheers!
Lynne

Sam--no 3-card poker this trip--had too much fun on the slots!! You will feel fine! So, make your plans!
Lynne--bet the Memphis ganbling you're taliking about is Tunica! We go there once a year, usually in June to celebrate a couple of birthdays. It is a lot of fun!!!
Christine--sending you pm re the Eureka get-together...
Marsha--give Donna a big hug when you meet her--
no way to catch up when you're gone for several days.....
big HUGGGSSSSSSSS to all!!!

Just taking a break from getting ready for a party tonight. We are having the wedding party from my sons wedding over to watch the video. Should be interesting watching all the drunks at the dance - not me, I was the dd.
Just made some beer bread - it only takes 3 ingredients and it smells soooo good., going to use it for dipping spinach dip. Who would have ever thought you could make bread with beer. I used one of my dh bud light - didn't want to waste one of mine.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Junie - what went wrong with your trip??? I am planning on making to to ES - just don't want to make any reservations till after St. Titty's day (thankyou Donna for naming it for me - now I just can't get it out of my head!!!)
-
Wow, I just got into the beading scene,,,
I look at the catalogs and just want to order it all,
what items have you made??
Necklaces and errings here
-
youneedabeer,
Yes, I do!
I don't know how hard it is to cut glass, or how big the sheets are, but beading is easy enough, I guess. I am a very beginner, and only had ONE FREE class, but it seems like there is no heavy lifting or anything.
Only problem so far, is that these beads are expensive! I don't think I will be able to work, due to these freakin' se's from the Tamoxifen I am taking... if I can't sleep, I can't function. If I can't work, I don't think I can afford the beading... so, maybe it will be a moot point... due to financial reasons, I may have to give up my new hobby.
Good Luck with your glass work... sounds fun!

Hola Chicas!
I'm just hanging out at the crash pad with some lovely ladies and drinking a decent Australian Shiraz/Cab.
Flying is going well, but I'm on a long stretch here and I'm missing Avery terribly! The rest of the month should be better thankfully.
Good luck with the Tamox, Harley. I went off of it because of the SE's and don't regret it at all.
Cheers!
-
I have made bracelets and earrings, but so far, no necklaces. A friend wants to go to look for more beads, but those things are just SO expensive! I have only just started beading and may just give it up, since it costs too much.
My dh is retired, so we are living on a fixed income now. I don't know if I want to go back to work. I quit my job when I moved to North Carolina, and then was dx'd with bc. That kind of stopped any thoughts I may have about going back to work....Oh well, maybe someday. For now, Ineedabeer!
Harley
evil, do you have any pics of the jewelry you have made? Maybe I can live vicariously through you.

Beer bread! I used to make that a lot--it makes great toast! Will keep in mind to use with spinach dip--sounds yummy! Sam, looking forward to seeing you in April!
The trip--just one hassle that we do once a year to go see some of Bob's family. It's a 3-hr drive to airport. Have to change planes. Then, rent a car and drive another 3 hours to get there. Takes all day to get there, then to get back. Stay in crummy motel, eat in even crummier restaurants! Hope to not step on any toes, but Carlsbad, New Mexico, is the armpit of the U.S. !! Bob dreads the trip as much as I do!
I don't know anything about beading but you might check www.orientaltrading.com for beads. They have lots of neat crafting supplies and I've ordered lots of different things from them. We're both retired, too, and it is hard to live on a reduced income when there's so much I want to do and everything costs so much!
Gonna have one more ML and drink a toast to my drinking buds!!!
hugggsssss to all!!! junie
-
I/we also live on a fixed income so I have to hit the craft stores when they have 50% off sales on beads....
If I wasn't in the AF reserves I definitely couldn't afford the beads, that's a little mad money for me...
Will post some pics soon

Good Morning All!
Finally....I had the Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini, it was very good. Soaked in the tub and had a very relaxing night on Friday.
Sam - The beer bread and spinach dip sounds good. Hope your party went well. I'm sure it was entertaining to see the reception!
Junie - Ugh..sounds like such a hassle to go visit! I think that it is Tunica. Is it a nice place? Fun?
Traci?? That must have been some Margarita. I don't think we've heard from you since you got it out!! LOL
Have a great day everyone,
Lynne

Hugs everbody!!

LOL I just posted that same quote you did Traci on another website yesterday ... only it was attributed to Dean Martin! Whoever said it, it's hilarious!!!
Cheers ALL!!!

:::Bump:::
(Because the drinking thread shouldn't be near the bottom of the page!)
Just the usual glass (or two) of wine tonight. I'm tired so no heavy drinking otherwise I'll spill my wine or drop my wine glass!
-
Where are all my drinkin' buds???
I have 5 glorious days off before I have to head out again, and then only for two days. I sure am lovin' the flyin' life again!
Same old Cab tonight with some aged goat milk cheese - yum!
I've actually been drinking less (and less often) since leaving W.F. I think I'm less stressed. Actually, I know I'm less stressed!
Cheers!
-
I'm having a Yellow Tail Cabernet/Shiraz blend .. it's Very good! Glad to hear you're less stressed Janis! The cheese sounds good .. now I have to go get some cheese and crackers!
Cheers Everyone!
-
A combo that I like is sliced Havarti Cheese and sliced pears, with a nice Merlot to sip. Making me drool to think about!
Janis--glad the new job is working out. Your job at WF must have been really stressful, because I think your current job would have a lot of stress! Putting up with a plane load of cranky, tired, irritable people! I realize that most travelers are nice, but there is always some obnoxious a-hole on any flight I've ever been on--and lucky me--they usually sit by me!!!
Bottoms up!!!
junie
-
Junie, I must keep you off my flights! (j/k)
-
Janis--LOL!! no--no--you WANT me on your flights. I'm totally laid back. Don't get mad easily--well, I do, but know to keep my mouth shut. Breath deep and think calming thoughts. Like just last week, nursing a Bloody Mary and plane going into land mode--Flt Attndt came by and said, take your time, I'll come back and get your glass just before we land.....took a couple more sips and here comes another Attndt who literally snatched my half-ful glass out of my hand and dumped it in her bag--before i could utter a word! grrrrr!!
I've had some interesting flights: meal had just been served and we're told of major turbulence--set your trays on the floor, put your trays in the upright position; man, was THAT one scary! Overheads were popping open and shit flying everywhere!! Another time, I'd just got a beer when turbulence hit--next thing i knew here came a flt attndt CRAWLING down the aisle with a trash bag to collect loose objects and there went my unopened beer! The worst flight was a very calm, some mild turbulence, but there was a teenage boy in the seat behind me who was terrified of flying and the first bump and roll sent him into a panic. The plane landed with an immediate announcement--ladies and gentlemen, we have a medical emergency on board, please stay seated......damn--it was the kid in the seat behind me. We're all sitting there and the flt attndt rushes up to him--he's standing up and hanging onto the back of my seat, leaning forward--and she asks him if he's going to throw up! OMG--if that kid had puked on my head and down my back!! And then, there was an Indian couple across the aisle and she DID throw up which caused me to find a barf bag quickly; and there was a lady 3 rows up who suffered a heart attack while we were landing...and, and, and--
you really want me on your flight! I just drink and don't cause problems!! Except--if you're ever on a flight and there's a long line for the bathroom and someone gets into line with a barf bag and opens it and starts gagging--and everyone in line lets her go first--that be ME!! Helpful hint to anyone who waits too long to get up and go pee!!!!
I love to travel; hate to fly! You have my utmost admiration!!!
chug-a-lug and bottoms up to all!!!

oh shit.....................................
I just posted this on another thread...........................
Hey Jay, since my Taxtorere was the last half of my treament, I'd come home and have a vodta/grapefruite and after that, a glass of wind. It was a big glass to!
O.K. That font was big all of the sudden and I think I'm on the wrong thread. My roommates hates he me. She said earlier Hates she was walking out the door "see you in the morning~!"
Sh*t why is the font so big/?
/what's drinkin & typing called?

Thank you. I found the right thread. Hugs.................

oh boy
-
Is there a way to delete my pics out of all of those posts?? How to you delete them ? lol.......hiccup.
-
Traci, we're here to help. Knowing you have a problem is the first step.....
Um, it's easy to delete your pic (I did). Just go to your home page and it's in there somewhere..... (sorry to be so non-technical!).
Junie, I do not want you on my flights if you are constantly surrounded by sick/barfing/problematic passengers..... (we/I don't allow them on Delta)
(j/k)
As for the drink snatching, I've done that, too, but I've also let people keep their drinks if they just got them and the flight was a short one but if they were nursing it then they deserve to have it taken away. Who nurses drinks on a flight???
I go out again Sunday then come back Monday (easy peasy). I love this job! I even got my first paycheck already! Been hanging out with the baby girl all week watching her be a toddler and she so cracks me up!
Well, time to go shopping - cheers!
-
Dang - where the hell is everyone??? I have waaaaay to much free time now! (not really)
Okay, so I got a new puppy today, from a shelter. Totally an impulse decision but she's very cute and really sweet and Avery needed an energetic dog (my cocker is 15 1/2 and want's nothing to do with her) so we got Stella.
She's a black lab/border collie/spaniel mix and I'm hoping she'll be more the size of a border collie but who knows? She definitely acts like one. The poor thing had so much stink on her (from being in two shelters) that Petsmart shampooed her 3 times - and she still smells!
Hopefully her next bath will take care of it. She's already made herself at home on the futon in the office so I guess she's here to stay.
Well, cheers drinkin' buds! Ya'll check in now, hear?
-
Hooray for you for adopting a shelter dog! I hope Stella will be a good addition to your household. Sounds like she's made herself right at home! We have a lab/german wire-hair pointer mix that will be 6 yrs old. He is finally out of the puppy stage and is such a gentleman now! But for the first year or so, he thought his name was G*D DAMMIT!!! Have fun!

Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't been around much... BUT now it's time to CELEBRATE!!! We are going to a St Patricks Day festival at a local winery. TODAY is my ONE YEAR bc Anniversary! Last year, on 3/15, I had my biopsy, and my surgeon took ALL the bc OUT! (OUT DAMN SPOT!) When I had my bi-lateral mast., the path report came back ALL NORMAL!!! I know... having a biopsy on the IDES of MARCH... not a good idea.
evilelf,
Yes, please show me some pics of the jewelry!! I am just getting started, and need to get motivated!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Harley
