It was a beautiful warm sunny day, and the skies were a perfect clear blue. As I walked by a department store window I admired my outfit, but when I looked at my face I realized I didn't know who I was! But I loved the Dingos' on my feet.
-
I opened my purse to see if there was an ID with a name on it.......
-
....and was shocked to find that my purse was full of cash, but no ID. I looked back at my reflection, and reflected in the glass behind me was.....
-
Dick Tracey, master detective. He was talking into his watch but keeping one eye closely on me....I knew I had to get away quickly but I had to lose the Dingo's on my feet fast so I..........................
-
...happened to notice the department store window right in front of me was displaying...
-
...the latest styles of Dingos. A-Ha! I thought..that would be the perfect place to ditch the shoes, and elude Dick Tracey. As I darted across the street....
-
I noticed I was being followed, I quickly ran through the store and out the back door into the....
-
...middle of a hometown parade. I scan the people in the parade and found myself able to blend in with the...
-
...the girls from the dance studio. I began to dance along with them and the crowd loved it. Just as I was really getting into it...
-
...it began to rain, then sleet, then snow. The dance costumes, all beautiful in color and fabric began to meld together in color. My clothes of course, did not.
They looked like marching tie-dyes t's and there I was in my jeans and Dingos, not knowing who I was or why I was there in this parade.
-
All of a sudden, the rain, sleet and snow stopped falling. I smiled and thought...
-
...wow, I'm really hungry. I glanced around to see if I could see Dick and he was no where to be found, I start walking down the street and on the corner of 1st and 6th, there is a...
-
phone booth with a man stripping off his glasses and suit - could it be.........................
-
...my brother changing his clothes after work? That boy really needs to slow down a bit! I tapped on the glass "Where are you going bro?" I asked him with a knowing smile. He looked up at me with a tired glance and opened his mouth to explain.
-
"yo, I got evicted AGAIN - hey, sis, you wouldn't happen to have any extra money on you, would ya?"
-
As luck would have it, I had just cashed in my winning lotto ticket prior to going window shopping that morning. You should have seen the look on his face when I handed him....
-
lucky four-leaf clover so he could try his luck......and then I took off running because Dick Tracy was hot on my tail because............
-
...technically it wasn't *my* winning lotto ticket that i had cashed in. Dick Tracy appeared to have no sense of humor about this, so I....
-
...quickly ran to a hairdresser's shop and told them I needed a complete makeover. That way I might have a chance to lose Dick Tracey. Why oh why is he following me, what does he think I've done?
-
Could it be he thinks I'm his beloved...............
-
wife's friend. With the new hair color and make up maybe I can make it home safely, set the alarm, and lock the doors and get on the computer to explain it all to my friends at breast cancer.org. They will help me decide what to do about....
-
...not knowing who I am...especially with new hair color and make up and yet, I know that was my brother in the phone booth!
I got to what I thought was my house and....
-
suddenly Dick T appeared...I looked him in the eyes, gasped and exclaimed...
-
....now I remember who you are! you're the guy from the masquerade party last night who everyone thought was putting something in.....
-
..in my purse. I opened my purse and couldn't find anything out of the oridinary, I looked up and gave him a blank stare, he pointed to my pocket. In horror, I reached into my pocket and pulled out...
-
...a diamond ring. I was overcome with emotion and my heart was beating heavily in my chest. I wrapped my arms around him and...
-
my memories started to trickle back into my mind. "Of course I will marry you!" I cried. My heart was filled with joy, but I could not stop wondering....
-
what had happened to me in the time my memory was lost and how I had a purse full of money but no ID. Maybe Dick will explain it all to me.
-
However, he pulled away from me and he did not say what I thought he was going to say...He said .....
-
"see ya" and turned and ran away with the ring. Boy was I confused and mad so I started .............
