Where do you purchase your natural vitamins?

I tried doing a search. Wasn't fruitful/efficient.
I would like to know where you purchase your natural vitamins. I am interested in an online source for mail order purchase.
I've gone to Trader Joes, Whole Foods (expensive), Vitamin Shoppe, etc. Would be easier to mail order and have consistent supply of good quality vitamins.
My list is short - Vitamin D, Magnesium, Calcium, Biotin, Multi, Glucosamine. Not sure if I'm missing anything.
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Good question. I'm always second guessing my self on $$$ or quality.

I use the "Vitamin Shoppe" on line. They have just about everything you can imagine and the prices seem pretty good.

I've ordered from two websites: www.swansonvitamins.com and www.iherb.com. You might check them out if you want to order online. They send stuff really quickly, too, even through the military postal system, which can take forever.
Good luck...Lynn

iherb, swanson and vitacost. I am constantly price shopping between them--wind up buying a portion from each if I also find a shipping promotional code

I purchase my wifes vitamins and supplements, and they come from several sources. The best vitamin pack we found is "Daily Advantage" from drdavidwilliams.com Mountain Home Nutritionals. We got that suggestion for supplements from Bill Henderson from http://www.beating-cancer-gently.com/ Lynda researched a lot of his suggestions pretty thoroughly, and they made sense to her. So far, cancer free after a mastectomy (right breast only) a year and a half into recovery. (and no chemo or radiation)
Glucosamine I get at Walmart, but I get the MSM, Glucosamine, Chondrotin mix, for me, it makes a huge difference getting all three, not just one or two. Not sure why.
You can download Lynda's regimen from our website, www.unwraptheribbon.com and it will show where to get the supplements she takes. (Bill makes nothing off of it and we make nothing, just what was reccomended to us). Hope that is of some help.

Check out the website www.supplementwatch.com. They rate many vitamins and supplements, using different factors.
I have used Pharmanex brand for years. I get a better price because I'm on an automatic delivery plan. They have some of the highest rated supplements, for quality, but can be a little pricey.
I'm not sure if this is a "you get what you pay for" situation or not. Since supplements are not regulated, you may not be getting much of what the label says is in it...

I worked in the manufacturing plant for GNC (Nutra Manufacturing in Greenville, SC). I can personally vouch for the quality control process and the sourcing for their vitamins. They make the GNC vitamins as well as many private label brands. One way to assure quality is to look for kosher-certified brands, which GNC also makes.
High quality vitamins are more expensive, but after the pet food poisoning last year, and after seeing all of the raw materials which are sourced from China, I'd HIGHLY recommend paying the premium for quality products such as GNC. Ultra-Mega Man and Mega Woman multivitamins are Kosher and sold in Israel as well as the US.

Hi Everyone,
Here I go again pointing you to Dr. Schulze information but this is an important read before you make your decision as to where you purchase and what you purchase regarding vitamins. Please, I am not speaking from ignorance when it comes to taking supplements. I did nothing less than 40 a day or more of vitamins and supplements. Things drastically changed after I was diagnosed with Stage IV bc. Go to herbdoc.com and go into the EDUCATIONAL PRODUCTS and then tab to free newsletter. Read the September 01, 2007 newsletter "The Story of Superfood". This is promotional for his products but there is good, sound information as well. It surely makes one think about what vitamins and supplements one is trying to assimilate!
I only do a few food based supplements and vitamins now. Schulze and Garden of Life are basically my two sources. Hope this will help someone.
God bless,
Genesis

Wow, folks, this is great information. You've given me weekend homework. I would like to try to avoid the synthetic vitamins and work with food source vitamins. I will read through all the materials, for sure.
Thank you! Thank you!

The brand of whole food supplements I have used for several years is Natures Plus. They are analyzed by independent labs and guarantee the potency of the products.
The also have a liquid multi vitamin/mineral supplement now that I take.
I get mine at a Wild Oats store.
You can check out the products on www.naturesplus.com
