I'm a Pittsburgh Steeler fan but I was really rooting for the Green Bay Packers to make it to the Super Bowl after the Steelers were eliminated. Brett is retiring after an astonishing 17 year career. What a Great football player and seemingly great person! I'll miss watching him play!

Did you know that Brett Farv's wife had Breast Cancer ? She wrote a book called Hope and all proceeds go to women w/ BC that need financial assistance.
She went to Sloan for treatments/surgery.
Just a little FYI .......Yes, Great guy !

Yes, I had heard that! I think I'll have to get her book. What a great thing to give all proceeds away for women with BC that need financial assistance .. she certainly doesn't need the money but not all people think that way! Thanks for reminding me!
-
My daughter gave me the book for Christmas. I thought it was inspiring and it does have some great pictures.

Deanna Favre's Book is called ........ Don't Bet Against Me ! beating the odds against breast cancer and life. Im a Wisconsinite -- and was able to have my book sign personally by Deanna when she was in Wisconsin back in Nov. She personalized my book and signed it as " Survivor Sister " ....Its a great book --

Thanks Winggirl, it's definitely on my list!
Unlimited .. How very cool that you had your book signed by Deanna Favre! Now I'm confused though .. is "Hope" a different book? Are there two?
-
Actually --- I should have expanded more on the HOPE ---- Deanna started her own Foundation called HOPE ..... website is ....DeannaFavre4Hope.com
The following is words from her website .....
Though Brett and I have been very blessed financially, I still have vivid memories of the days I spent struggling to make ends meet as a single mom. If I'd been diagnosed with cancer back then, I would never have been able to afford the kind of medical care I've received. For example, a single shot of a drug used to increase white blood cells during chemotherapy can run upwards of $3,000! How in the world would someone without insurance ever be able to afford that? For this reason we formed the Hope Foundation- our goal is to try to raise awareness and help those who are uninsured or underinsured.
We hope you enjoy the site! Please come back often as we hope to update it frequently -
Wow, I'm very impressed! I never knew she was a single mom either. Well we know there are certainly so many single mom's out there and who is it that gets the bulk of bc dx's .. women! What a wonderful foundation they started!
-
She was a single mom - with Brett's child --- they married many yrs later and then also had a second daughter----
-
Okay, gotchya. Now I Really want that book! lol

I live in the Houston area but I am a memeber of a HUGE Green Bay Packer Fan Club. I was shocked that he hung it up. Again, I was shocked when he didn't quit the year before! lol

Hello Fellow Packer Fans,
I live in Green Bay and am still in shock over the announcement yesterday. He is a genuine guy and his family will be missed by the community. Their daughter Breleigh has been in my sons class every year since Kindergarten and I have had the opportunity to meet Deanna at school functions. Her book is very faith filled and really a worthwhile read. I too have a personalized book from her that I feel very blessed to have. I was lucky enough to be given a pink packer hat signed by both Brett and Deanna as well.
So to my fellow Packer fans, its been a great ride and I am still sad that our #4 is not going to be in Lambeau next year.
