INTERVAL AFTER A/C BEFORE HERCEPTIN & TAXOL
Comments

I'm halfway through my A/C and I wondering how long your doctors waited to begin the Herceptin and Taxol after finishing A/C. I have been getting different answers. I know the idea is to get the syngery between the two regimens and avoid the heart issues but what worked for you? Thanks for your responses.

I went pretty much straight on, with my usual every 3 week schedule. I had no heart issues.I had a baseline MUGA and one every three months during the Herceptin.
Congrats on having half your AC done and best of luck with the rest.

I was on a two-week schedule for A/C and two weeks after my fourth A/C, I started by first T/H. My heart function sagged a bit toward the end but rebounded so I was able to continue without stopping ...

I was also on the 2 week schedule of A/C followed by Taxol/Herceptin
I had no heart issues and a good MUGA scan and was able to lap swim the second week after chemo on each cycle.( I have to admit I swam slowly but did do it)
I'm now done with chemo and have 5 months of Herceptin left

I was on a 2 weeks schedule, 4 AC, then 4x Taxol, and then started with the Herceptin. I could have started the Herceptin at the same time as taxol, but it was already pretty dense.
Between the AC and Taxol I took a 3 weeks time, to fit in a small vacation with my daughter - the onc was approving...

I had A/C for four treatments each treatment being three weeks apart.
I started T/H at the same time. I had four taxols ( just ended ). I will continue on Herceptin for a full year.
I have no problems. I was actually worried at first that I wasnt getting any big side effects ( that i had on A/C ). I'm doing great and love the treatment layout

Hello,
I did 4 A/C dose dense (bi-weekly) and immediately, 2 weeks after last A/C started taxol with first herceptin infusion. The taxol was given every 2 weeks and herceptin every 3. Twice I received taxol and herceptin at the same treatment.
All went well for me. No heart trouble. I had an ECHO done before chemo - score was 68 - had a MUGA 4 months after herceptin began - score was 54 - 1 year after herceptin is completed MUGA back to 62.
