    I'm Her2-, But I will say that is a hard question to answer....there are so many factors that go into the treatment of each sister here.

    I will say that there is light at the end of this journey. Keep posting and reading the post here and you will feel much more informed and in control of your own journey. Best of luck.

    4 dose-dense adriamycin/cytoxan, 4 DD Taxol.  I had all my chemo prior to surgery and after the 1st or 2nd dose of the A/C, I felt the tumor start to get smaller & mushy.  By the end of chemo, the tumor was completely gone.  When they did my lumpectomy, they said it was basically a "ghostectomy."  There were no live cancer cells left.

    I'm now on Arimidex.  It's been 2 years and so far NED.

    The only way to truly answer this is to find an oncologist you trust and go with his recommendation. Chemo has become targeted so what was best for me may not be best for you.

    Lexi, try posting on the Chemotherapy board.  Still, no one here can really advise you, just share stories.

    What chemos will work best is really an individual thing, depending on your tumor's characteristics.  If you are HER2+ though, herceptin is important.

    Agreed... go to the her2 board or the chemo board.

    FYI: I had TCH:  Taxotere, Carboplatin, and Herceptin.  This was unusual a couple years ago, but much more common now.

    I'm also HER2 positive.  I had taxol, carboplatin, and herceptin.  This seems to be a very commen grouping these days for women who are HER2+ and ER/PR-.  I also agree that you can find more information on the HER2 support group on treatment options then you can probably find here.  Good luck whatever you do.

    I had 4 dose dense A/C and 4 Taxol. I'm not HER2+

    I guess I won't know if it was successful until I die - of something else?

    But, the cancer that was still there after the lumpectomy was gone at the mastectomy post chemo. So I go with that.
