    Hi,

I didn't have taxol but Herceptin did not give me itchy palms and soles.  I had/have lots of aches. Good luck.

    cedeno,

have you reported it to your onc?  just to rule out an allergic response?  i had tingling in my hands (fingers) and toes with the taxol.  It is probably the neuropathy the more i think  about it, an allergy would probably cause rash/swelling.

    Littleflower-

ps: it all go better after finishing taxol.

I had itching fits in my palms and soles of my feet.  It was an allergic reaction to the Taxol.  I made it through three treatments, with each one causing more "episodes" that required triple doses of benadryl to stop.  I finally resorted to carrying a bottle of liquid benadryl in my purse because it acted quicker than the pills.  This reaction is very different from the tingling or numbness/neuropathy that I also experienced with taxol.  I kept mentioning it to the onc nurse, who blew off the problem.  Finally, after having 7 episodes after the 3rd treatment, I insisted on seeing the onc before the 4th treatment.

I'm glad I did. The onc said this can be a very dangerous reaction, leading to anaphylactic shock.

Be sure your onc knows whats going on.

I had taxotere with my Herceptin and while I was having #6 chemo  (out of 6) my palms and soles of my feet turned red and started to itch.  I had stopped taking the benadryl 4 rounds before due to driving and being too drowsy...with no problems.  While at the onc's I popped a benedryl tablet and it was gone in about 30 minutes.  And it never happened again after chemo was done and I was just on Herceptin.  So I agree....must be the taxanes.

Thank you, I also mentioned it my oncologists, - two different doctors  and both of them blew it off.   I had my last Taxol on February 22nd. and I am still having the itchy palms and soles, it seems to get a little worse each treatment, but I am hoping it will be gone  for good by next week.  I will go get some benedryl and try it.
