deb: i'm so glad to get back here and express my encouragement for your journey. i'm so glad that your team has a plan. breathe deeply into the opportunity that this new treatment has to offer. i'll pray that your fears evaporate into thin air and that you're left with a will to hold onto what is dear.... for as long as you want.

i was listening to a recording of Pema Chodrin as i drove home from Chicago last night, after a HUGE and exhausting day. she said:

    "death is certain."

"the timing of death is uncertain."

"what needs to be done in this moment?"

i took great comfort in that thought. slonedeb: death is indeed certain. it's the length of the living that we have no control over... and where we begin to question the 'fairness-of-life' questions.

may this day bring you peace, comfort and a hope of the certainty of a restoration to wholeness ahead. what is important for this moment? may you ask important questions.

know that i treasure your friendship, your example, your encouragement and your trust. may this day be filled with mercy for you and your family.

i prayed prayers for you at church this morning and was given the gift of tears -- in response to my concern for you.

So glad to see your recent posts, Deb, suggesting at least enough energy to post.

Sorry you're changing chemo and wishing your body acceptance of the doctor's new choice.

Wishing you a good week, and hoping the healing sun finds it's way to your home, warming you with it's light.

    All the best to you,

    Tender

slonedeb: delightful news today regarding these twins-to-be of ours!! just learned from 3D ultrasound that all is progressing well. the kiddos are not as far apart as once thought  (in their weights) -- so i'm doing the grandma giddy-dance.

what if everything does unfold the way it's 'supposed' to? isn't that a comforting thought. i don't have a snippet of an idea why there's illness or suffering on this planet of ours, but what if there's a plan bigger than our meager understanding?

maybe the suffering is to see what we are capable of, when we're faced with hell-on-earth. getting to know other woman here has been such a source of strength for me -- and you, too, i know.

keep your heart fixed on mercy and grace. keep your mind free from fear and worry. let go and let God..... and all the other bumper stickers you can think of.

thanks so much for finding the energy needed to post here.

Goodness Deb, so sorry you've got the flu on top of it all. Are they giving you any anti-viral drug to try to help bring those viruses under control?

What did they tell you to take for your fever? Tylenol isn't recommended if your liver is inflammed. Did your doctor suggest something else?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I just came to write, and now I see you're sick with the flu.

I'll keepy you in a special place in my thoughts, Deb, wishing for healing.

    Tender

slonedeb: are you screaming, "Enough already!!?!!??"

it seems there really should be a limit to what we can ask our spirits to go through. after i finished my rads i developed a case of the shingles and then after that cleared up i had a case of 'frozen shoulder' (which i'd never even heard of before.)

i know i was getting so 'down' from attempting to get thru each of these various episodes. it is so tough to stay up-beat in the face of all that you are enduring. thanks for letting us know of your flu bug. we'll all now start sending very specific prayers -- begging for those symptoms to relent.

as puppylovey says: "let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!"

shine on sister..... we're all pulling for you in the face of this latest unfairness. it makes me think that they send heaping big loads of crap to some of the best of us -- just so that we can show the rest of the world how to behave when our backs are up against the wall.

i wish i had a funny story to cheer you with..... my best news is of course the news of the twins being on target..... just goes to show you that the doctor can get you all alarmed for no apparent good reason. we've just got to hang on to each other and TRUST in the goodness of our creator.

tried to figure out how to bottle up some of their energy for you, slonedeb. know that i think of you all the while.

slonedeb: what's your niece's name? we'll want to know that to make our prayers very specific -- of course our creator already knows her name and has wrapped her in his loving arms. i think the maker of the universe must cry when more of his children are stricken with this nonsense before there's a cure. you will be such an inspiration for her!! you are knowledgable and will share your experience to help her thru the initial frustration, fear and confusion.

i'm so glad that so many of your friends are popping in and out with encouragement. it must warm your heart to realize how many people are sending you prayers, energy, inspiration and friendship.

did you realize that today was Leap Year day? i know it's been a while since your body's allowed you to do any leaping, but here's to imagining: cartwheels and back hand springs, somersaults, skipping, hop scotch, double dutch and jumping-jacks! let's all be kids again.

Gentle hugs to you this evening, slonedeb. Know that I have you in my heart and prayers -- asking that you have a sense of peace and calm as you think back over your life. Appreciate all that you have done thru the years. Consider the special things you've done -- places that you've gone.

I'm soooooooo thrilled!! My daughter's getting more pregnant by the day. Today is the final day of week number 30!! Tomorrow starts week #31!!

I'm finally allowing myself to get excited. Thanks for keeping her in your prayers. How's your niece doing this weekend? Best to her, too.

I love to hear from you when your are able.
