LIFE'S A BEACH!

No one is home right now, dinner is simmering on the stove so I have time to respond, or a few minutes anyway.
Char, those waves look like what was happening around here this weekend. Weather is going to be great this week. I haven't checked yet but I think hubby is at the driving range right now.
Marsha, how cool that the ladies came to see your play and got a beach house to boot! You all look wonderful.
Susan, I was never good at volleyball but I do like playing it.
Iris, I like walks along the beach. I think year round school is good because there is less time to have to relearn from the breaks, but it's hard to find daycare.
Gus, heat wave huh? I'll keep you posted on Disney.
Blue, love the avatar. My nonprofit fundraiser this year is An Evening with the Stars and it's Hollywood Glamour.
Jan, you sure that isn't me on a jet ski?
Hazel, it's nice to have someplace that is fun to go to.
Jas, I'll look for Capt. Stubing on my cruise to Mexico.
Faith, great news on DD. Smores sound good to me.
Char, hugs to you on this sad anniversary.
Colleen, are you doing ok?
Nicki, it's not our storm you're getting - ours petered out, lots of wind but not a lot of rain.
Got to go read.

Hi-marsmallows,you are calling my name! Roasted many a one and s'mores,wow-great way to end a day anywhere-virtual or real! Loved the idea, faithandfifty. Brings back such great memories!
Hazel-you are welcome to call me Iris. I like to meet new cyberfriends and loved "Fantasy Island". Can still hear Tattoo telling Mr Roarke the plane was arriving. Great beach places were always in background.
Angelcharlene-thank you for sharing Shannon's art work. She was a beautiful soul,I am certain just hearing your descript and seeing her work. I am glad it was done in digital-this piece.
Colleen-thinking of you and hope Warren is doing well. I will be with you,in spirit, and you will have a huge crowd of friends there on Wed. So great to see you! How is your dad?
Gus/Sue-I know you are glad for some extra time away from schl. I hope you get no snow-your area seems like it just keeps coming this winter. Guess the ski resorts are thrilled in many places.
Marsha-have a blast! I hope you have such fun! Get lots of photos to share! Congrats on the play!
Jan-hope your area skips more snow. I guess we are missing all precip here. We hope for rain and other areas hope it stops. Weird winter, for real.
Margaret-know exac what you mean abt the winds instead of rains. We get hurricanes here and this year, had none. What you were describing yesterday I know well. I am going to Old Navy soon as I return to my house. I think abt you because it is next to Starbucks. We would hv fun!
Nicki-sorry the storm is headed your way. I know there has been lots of snow in the Chicago area. Saw where some areas had over 70 inches this year. Seems like it was Neesie's area of Michigan.
Final walk around the beach-see you on Tues! We have a nice pier here and I sit there often just watching the shore. I think of all of you and how nice to have cybermet so many beach buddies!

Good night beach beauties!
Iris: I meant to comment to you about the ponies at the Outer Banks you mentioned .. I would love to see them. Makes me think of the wild ponies at Assetegue at the shore that I've been to a long time ago. I believe Ames said she camped there .. how cool.
Janny: Yes, had a nice day here as well! Very cool pic with the speed boat! Thank you about Shannon, it was a real tragedy when we lost her.
Hazel: No need to feel guilty for coming here. It's a calm, relaxing and fun thread but if anybody needs any support we are here for that also.
Faith: Thank you for the pink umbrella drink, I really needed that today. Your imagination is great and just what is needed at this cyber beach! I'm thrilled about your dd's twins! How wonderful that everything seems okay! Oh, a bonfire on the beach tonight. Very cool! I've got marshmallows!
Gus: Omg, as soon as you said that about Blue's avatar it hit me! It reminded me also of Gina's avatar at the Hampton Inn.
Marsha: How cool that you are vacationing with several girls from BCO! Love your pic, you all look wonderful! It's good that you refuse to feel bad about not being able to address everyone. It's Very time consuming to do and some people just don't have that kind of time.
Margo: Thanks for your hugs. So you Think hubby is at the driving range? lol
I'm literally falling asleep at my computer. Thanks to all of you for your kind words about my niece Shannon. I'm going to go and imagine the waves lulling me to sleep by the bonfire. Good night all.

I just stuck my head out the door. Looks like the storm fizzled out. Instead of seeing 6+ inches, it looks like we got maybe 2 inches. Got lucky this time around. When I watched the weather map this morning, looks like many of you are getting hit from the Lakes to the south. Lots of heavy rain too.
Another perfect day to set up shop at the beach. Im missing the warm weather.
Iris: Yep you are right. These storms have hit the states by the Lake pretty hard. Suz is Wisoncsin and Neese have gotten more than Chicago. But after 50 inches who continues to count. This has been a very hard winter for the midwest with regards to snow. I am so ready for Spring. Want to plant flowers and go for walks again. Cabin fever has hit me hard.
Guz: OMG! I forgot your teaching and will have to make up all those snow days at the end of the year. In a bikini? Hahaha that did make me laugh this morning.
No time again - but wanted to say hello. Hope everyone has a great day at the beach.
And yes Charlene, you should be proud. You have started a nice thread and have welcomed so many new people. Its a nice place to visit.
Hugs to everyone.

Boy, those smores hit the spot last night.
Iris, I think we would get in trouble if we went shopping but every shopping expedition has to start with Starbucks.
Char, that fire was great last night - once the flames died down, it was great for the smores. Yup, hubby was at the driving range yesterday. He gets off work about 2 so if the weather is nice and he's not home when I get home, I figure that's where he is.
Nicki, I couldn't do that snow. I'm so ready for spring - yesterday I wore a pink shirt and someone commented that it was a cute shirt, so springlike, but it wasn't spring....whatever. Everyone have a good day.
-
Good morning Beach Friends. What a lovely day here on this side of the beach. Its actually going to be in the 60's today. Maybe, just maybe, we've lucked out and completely missed any nasty winter stuff this year and spring is coming early.
-
Hi Beach Bums ~
Charlene - so sorry about your niece. What a talented artist.
Colleen ((HUGS))
I loved Fantasy Island and Love Boat too!
Marsha - you look so cute in your costume! (or so you SAY it's a costume LOL!) Your BDNO sounds like a blast! I am going to look you up in April when I'm in Palm Harbor.
Guz - don't you remember Susan knocking you down and stealing the party hat from you?
Actually, I asked Susan if she would haul the hat back to this part of the country since she was driving back from Pinkstock so I didn't have to ship it or check it. (I can just imagine the siren going off in my checked luggage
)
Hope everyone has a great day....where's the cabana boy today?
-
Morning kids,
Not sure where the "warm" weather is that they predicted but it's sure as heck not here. Figures, I have mucho to do today. I'm going to get it all done and then lounge with my feet in the waves for the remainder of it.
See you guys soon....................
-
Good morning beach beauties
Donna, thank you. Going to be looking for that cabana boy today for sure!
The sunrise is so beautiful today with all of it's healing colors. Going to lie on the beach and let the sun melt all my aches away. Good company and a tequila sunrise will help with that too!
Have a great day everyone!
-
I posted elsewhere and thought I also put it here but now I don't see it.
Just wanted to say hello to everyone, and let you know that I am thinking of all of you.
I have some work today, so I am trying to focus on that.
Hugs

Hi Colleen -- my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face this new diagnosis.
Has anyone seen Amy lately?
-
Hello Jaz. right here behind you,,lol. Just been busy and not getting around to all my favorite stops.
Colleen-thinking of you.
Charlene-yep camped at assateague and it is wonderful.
Iris-you sound like you are at a lovely place.
Hazel-Nice to meet you and you are right, this is a great place to hang out and relax.
Nicki-You are correct, Charlene did a great thing by starting the beach thread. Its very relaxing even if our weather is not what we wished it was in our real life.
Guz got taken out at pinkstock over the party hat? Man, the things I missed.
Donna-I can imagine a party hat might set off a few alarms.
Liz-its colder here also and we had major rain last night that is supposed to bring in the cold.
Margo-nothing like a good smore. Personally I prefer the marshmellow and the chocolate and can do without the graham cracker but I'm weird like that.
ok off to see what I can get into around here.
Ames
-
Ok here's a smore pie. Chow down.
-
OMG! I think I gained 10 pounds just from looking at that picture.
-
Pass it over this way, will ya!
-
and i found the cabana boy
-
I think we can all use a smiling face and a laugh.
Colleen: Hi sweetie, I'm glad you have work to keep you busy. We will all be with you tomorrow.
Susan: Oh my, that smore pie looks delicious. Anybody ever have a peanut butter smore? mmmmmm And I can't pass up a Heinie!
Amy: Good to see you back. How are you feeling?
Jas: hahaha me too!
-
Yeah, I do have a lot in common with Gina. But I'm glad she doesn't have THIS in common with me. Just wanted to clear any speculations.
edited to fix link

My basket is bigger than my stomach. I know that's hard to believe. Yesterday, I made the mistake of stopping in at Sam's club. This is always a mistake because I simply can't go in for ONE item and get out without a basketful of stuff I probably should have passed on by.
They have the best produce department but of course its is all in bulk. So yesterday, I arrived home with a huge 10 lb bag of nectarines, 10 lb bag of navel oranges ( a really great price), 2 lbs of fresh strawberries, 1/2 lb of blackberries (yum). Now, the delimma...how do I eat all this before it goes bad?!
Can you freeze nectarines?
-
Just stopping by to drop off some pina colada's for everyone. Time to relax by the beach, wiggle your toes in the warm sand and forget about the stress...
-
Jas -
You can take any of that fruit, peel it if you like, put the chunks on a cookie sheet and freeze it. Once the chunks are frozen store them in a zip-lock in the freezer. You can pop a few out at a time to eat frozen or use them in a smoothie. I do it all the time with berries, bannans, mellon and peaches.
-
s'more pie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a great idea!!!!!
thanks for taking the picture of our campfire last night, char. you're really getting to be a master with your camera.
happy tues to everyone. our SIL departed for his Air Force assignment this afternoon..... so we're into the one day at a time mode, for sure now!
hugs to all
-
Oh thanks, Deb! That is a great idea about using the frozen chunks in smoothies.
-
Faith -- hugs to you. I'm so glad you got such good news on the babies. They'll be here before you know it.
-
Hey Jas - The mood I'm in I say lets skip the smoothies, add some rum and just get looped.....
-
Okey dokey...one rum coming up!
-
Deb - that's a great tip - thanks.
Jas - I do the same thing at Sam's. I do have my mom and aunt that I can split things up with though. Now I'm craving the fruit you just mentioned. I'll have to hit Sam's tomorrow when I'm in OKC. LOL
-
OMG - that smore's pie..I've been eating smore's cereal recently - yum - not the least bit healthy so I eat fruit with it
I posted these elsewhere but I didn't know where everyone posts so here goes....
IT's A BOY
Wee-wee (lol)
-
OMG...that is adorable, Emelee! He's so cute.
<they make smores cereal? why didn't I get the memo on this development>
By the way, I have plenty of fruit I can send you for breakfast.
