Herceptin Dosage due to weight change

Good day, wonder if anyone has their herceptin dosage changed due to weight changed. I read that the dosage of herceptin is based on your weight and because I lost a lot of weight (59kg to 44kg) I asked to my oncologist about this (I was scared about overdose and heart damage), she agreed and changed the dosage to reflect my current weight (at that time 44kg) and told me to eat more to gain weight. Since then I have gained a bit of weight (46kg eating all the times) but she does not want to change the dosage again because I did not gain more than 10%, but she keeps telling me to gain weight. So now I worried about not receiving an adequate dosage and scared to gain too much weight because I see the oncologist only at every 2-3 cycles meaning 6-9 weeks. If I gain too much weight between the onco visit then I will not get enough herceptin in my body. So now I feel like I should never asked her this question  then she would not reduced the dosage because I would prefer to received more than not enough herceptin.

I would appreciate if anyone can give me some info about herceptin dosage and weight changed in order to reassure me and I could not find anything on net.

    tks

I had my dose/weight assessed at some point as I had lost weight but not as much as you.  As I recall they decided not to modify the dosage, but did weigh me regularly after that.

You might go to her2support.org and ask the question there, there are a lot of knowledgeable people there.

I doubt that the extra 2 kilos will matter, but another 3 might, so have them keep tabs on your weight.  The pharmacy didn't prepare my herceptin until I was weighed and had an IV going.

My oncologist recalculated my dose each time I had an infusion. But I also know that a close friend of mine who had trouble tolerating Herceptin had her dose cut by a third and was told not to worry, it would still be effective.

Thanks to both of you for your info. I will post on the her2support.org. Never been on that web site. It seems to have a lot of info out there.
