Making a toast to our dear bud and sister CY,
Cheryl,
To your sweet spirit. Tomorrow I will smile, and surely make someone's day.
Cheers,
Donna
-
Donna,
I'll drink to that.
Cheers,
Charlene
-
I raise my glass to Cy!
May her spirit find a wonderful place to be!
-
Donna,
"To your sweet spirit. Tomorrow I will smile, and surely make someone's day."That is a beautiful saying!!
To Cheryl!! May her spirit be at peace...Harley
-
Donna- I'd give you a call, as I am toasting Cy's life now also, but you may be sleeping so you can get up and jazzercise. Thanks for the text this a.m. re CY, the only response I could think of was...shit! So I needed time to compose, take it all in, get on-line asap and then get to work.
I just had an employee quit and the only thing everyone could say about her was, "she was always smiling" reminds me of Cy and I told everyone at work I wish I could be remembered as a smiling, happy person. Cy has taught me what a difference it makes.
Hugs

I'm kind of choking on my beer--but, BOTTOMS UP to CY, and to all...
-
Well, all I know is what I believe and I believe that death is not an end but a continuum. (a good subject to discuss over wine!)
Anyway, I don't have any great layovers in March as most are short but I could probably get-together in NYC with ??? I'm going to try to move around some of my trips and if anything good comes of that I'll let ya'll know!
Cheers!
-
Cheers everybody!
Hugs, Traci

Hooray it's Friday!! It was a long week. I am finally getting over my cold.
I believe someone else had asked for the chocolate Martini recipe. Does anyone have one? I sure would like to try one this weekend!
Bottoms up girls!
Lynne

Chocolate Martini's:
Chocolate Thunder: Van Gogh Vanilla Vodka, Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate, Vodka and Godiva White Chocolate liqueur.
Chocolate Covered Cherry: Van Gogh Black Cherry Vodka, and Godiva Dark Chocolate liqueur served with a cherry. (Or three!)
Traci

Yummy - that chocolate martini sounds delicious! And dangerous!
I agree, it's been a looong week. By Tues it seemed like a week already! I hate that!
But - TGIF! Mark and I are going to Dallas this weekend, as yesterday was his mom's 75th birthday, so his sister is having a party for her Sat. I just love his mom, she reminds me so much of my mom, and she also loves her 5:00 cocktail everyday, so we have a lot in common.
Cheers,
Donna
-
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! All those chocolate drinks sound yummy! Everyone smile ...
Cheers!
Charlene
-
Well, I'm still at work so no drinking - yet! I have a nice CA Zinfandel waiting for me at home though. Would love to try the chocolate drinks but don't have all the ingredients. Cheers!
-
Just checking in on all the drinkers.
Missing Cy's posts here, she couldn't wait until she felt well enough to have one with us, so remember to have one for her.
Janis -isn't time up at WF? Where are some pics of our niece? BTW, my neices and nephews call me "auntie" Avery can do the same. Have you celebrated her 1 yr anni of "gotcha day?"
Donna- Hope TX was fun and over the top as TX celebrations tend to be. Ready for FL? Give Marsha Marsha Marsha a big hug and I have not forgotten about those cookies for her. Hug to Traci too!
and all of ya'll also!
-
Hi everybody!
Look what somebody just sent me:
"
I just read an article on the dangers of heavy drinking....
Scared the sh*t out of me.
So that's it!
After today, no more reading. -
ROTFLMAO Traci!!!
Bottoms up everyone!
-
Just enjoying a LARGE glass of white, and found your thread...
Cheers girls
-
Hey everyone!! Just stopped by for a minute. Mom and Dad came into visit for awhile. NO drinking while they are here! Absolutely against it so we abstain while they are here. I am making one of those chocolate covered cherries after they head out!! It sounds wonderful! Hope everyone is well and warm!
Cheers!
-
Lynne - bummer -I'll have one for you tonight (being the team player that I am LOL!)
Traci - ROFLMAO! I too will quit reading.
Christine - TX was fun! Mark's mom is a hoot! Reminds me a lot of my mom. I can only hope I'm that active and sharp if I live to be 75! AND - she has a "highball" as she calls it EVERY night. So there you go! I am trying not to eat much between now and 3/8, as I have to squeeze into the old wetsuit, which is THE most unflattering garment ever created. We're going to Key Largo on 3/8, so I won't be seeing Marsha! Marsha! Marsha! until the April Palm Harbor trip, which I am hoping to see Traci then too!
Cheers,
Donna
-
Lynne....what is that a pic of in your avatar???
Can't wait to see you Donna. Have you been to Key Largo? There are some beautiful coral reefs in Key Cujo which is pretty close!
-
Traci - I have been to Key Largo, but this is my first scuba trip. We're hooked up with Rainbow Reef to dive w/ them for 3 days. Yes, I understand there are some awsome reefs not too deep and great for beginners. I'm SO exicited to dive AND to meet you for a drink or two or so.....
Sipping a chard tonight. I made some chicken stir-fry and overcooked the chicken, so it was REAL dry...what's a girl to do? Find her corkscrew, that's what.
Cheers,
Donna
-
I love the "keys" from Key Largo right on down to Key West...one of the best trips ever!!
Drinking buds--I have got to share this story with someone, so you all are "it" !!
We are getting ready for a trip out of town; I need my hair cut. Place I've gone for last few years can't work me in...DH takes me to his BARBER!!! OMG! Barbershop chairs are so more comfortable!! This guy spent MORE time trimming me up and fussing with my hair than I've ever had done before. When he was finally finished with the cutting and trimming--he said sit still--and gave me the most incredible head and neck/back massage...and then went on to blow-dry and style my hair.........I was totally blown away! AND, cost was way less than what I've been paying to go to a "salon" ...this guy is a keeper!!! And, red-faced and kicking self in butt--DH has been telling me for several years to give this guy a try!! s i g h ! ! !
Living in the boonies sucks, but can have its' good times!
hugggssss to all, and as always, got a ML in my hand!!!
-
LOL--forgot the icing on the cake! I got a big hug and a kiss from him!!! I was speechless!!!
-
Glad I found this thread. Now I think I'll have a beer!
-
Good Morning all!
Traci, It's a big fluff ball of a dog. We were living on a farm out in the boonies and it and it's brother showed up inside one of our barns. I've always thought he was so cute. We didn't get to keep him. We had 3 other dogs already. He went to a wonderful home though. I've been thinking about replacing him and putting my picture up....but he's much cuter than me!!
Donna, Thanks for being the team player, maybe some day I can do the same for you! You would think being 43 ( about to turn 44 ) I could drink in front of them, but I don't.
All of this talk about scuba diving and beautiful water and beaches is making me want to get out of town.....bad. I have never been to the Keys but it sounds amazing. I've always wanted to scuba dive but have never had the chance. It snowed here last night. I live in middle Tennessee. It did not snow much but people sure can't drive when it snows an inch or two. Ugh!
Welcome Sue! Both of you!
Junie, sounds like we all need to check out the local barber! I pay way too much for haircuts. I've been here about a year and still trying to find someone good in a decent price range.
Well I've got to get some work done. Meeting a builder today and hopefully will land his account!!
Bottoms up!
Lynne
-
Hi Lynne, I'm was a native Tennessean, but am transplanted to TX now. You ought to see how people in houston react to just a sprinkle of snow or sleet! I just try to stay off the roads.
-
youlooklikeyouneedabeergirl - I CERTAINLY DO, PASS ONE OVER PLEASE
Junie - as a kid we had a neighbor who owned the local barber shop so that was the only place we went to get a haircut. I always had short hair and small boobs so was frequently mistaken for a boy, so sitting in a barber chair didn't make any difference.
Traci - I too am going to quit reading - what we don't know we can't worry about.
Donna, have a great time on your vacation. My best friend just returned from Orlando, said the weather was wonderful. I am so ready for warm weather.
Happy hump day to all!!
Cheers
-
Well, Happy Birthday to my mom - she's 71! Cheers to her for birthing me despite not wanting to!
Haircuts. Um, I really need one as my hair hasn't been this long in about 20 years but I haven't had the time to get one. There is a salon school right by my house and that's where I go because they're quite good and it's cheap! The last time I spent big bucks on a haircut it was only a trim after a body wave and oh did I complain! (same salon chain that operates the school!)
I still read about what is 'bad' for me/us/humans but I drink, too, and that's what helps me cope with what I read!
Oh, and Welcome Sue! Cheers!
-
Welcome sue (love your user name) and suecco too!
Sam- only 6 wks to Eureka Springs, can you make it?
Donna, maybe we can hire Junie's barber, skip the cut and get the massage!
Happy bday to Janis' mom!
My dad's would have been yesterday. Very creative Pieces!
Gotta run and watch my dvr'd shows (mainly Idol, pathetic I know!)
-
Oh Christine, BTW, yes it was 1 year home with Avery on the 9th! I swear I'll post some pics - when I get the right connector cord thingy for my printer/scanner. It prints but doesn't scan??? I dunno. My old scanner still works but it's disconnected. I am SO NOT technologically adept!
