Hi, this may not be the place to ask but I have a question.

I had a bilat almost a year ago, no recon.  Two days ago I reached into the dryer and felt a pain in the breast area and it isn't going away. It's very tender but doesn't really bother me unless I move the wrong way.

Has anyone had this happen?  And thank you,

    Hi,

Sometimes I have a nerve ending pain on one scar area or the other.  It's kind of a twinge of pain that last a few minutes and then goes away.  It doesn't sound like yours is like that though.  After a bilateral w/node removal there's all kinds of tissue trauma. There are many women who have trouble stretching and lifting their arms after surgery and radiation.

You might try putting a heating pad on it and treating it like a pulled muscle.

    Take care,

    Hi Galnok,

It does sound as though you may have pulled something, probably a muscle. When you say it's tender, do you mean tender to the touch? I really haven't experienced anything like this. If it doesn't go away within a week or two, it would probably be a good idea to check it out. Sorry you're experiencing discomfort and worry.

Think twice about the heating pad, since your surgery puts you at risk for lymphedema, and I think heat may be a no-no.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions.  Actually I am just tender to the touch unless I move the wrong way.  I'm thinking it is the bone, it is above my surgery scar.  Just came on recently and seemed strange since it had been so long since my surgery.

You are probably all right, I've probably done something.  Thanks again, Pam

Hi - I get this kind of thing now and again.  Oftentimes I can trace it to some chest exercises or muscle strain that I've done.  The fact that it's not constant is likely a good thing.  I agree, give it a couple weeks - not to worry.
