With respect to lunch at Firebird, it is now sold out.  Thanks much everyone.

    Hi Anne,

Is this a special get together for the NY women here on BCO? Because we are having a meet up on March 9th. The details are listed in the Get Together forum. I think we have a large group gathering, and we are making it a fundraiser for BCO.

Maybe I am misunderstanding, is this a Hillary Clinton Fundraiser and the $25 goes toward her campaign?

I don't think I would participate if that is the case because as we can see, Mrs. Clinton is not going to be the nominee and I would rather give my $25 to BCO or to my favorite breast cancer research lab, The Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

This is genuine question and not a "Hillary basher unable to restrain herself" - I really am confused and if it is the  former scenario, I would want you to be aware of our upcoming NY Meet Up!

Anne:  We lost a dear friend last night.  The kindest, sweetest person one could ever meet.  Her strength was inspiring.  This is a breast cancer support board and your words were hurtful when I read them.

This is a time for us to join hands and be strong together.  No agenda's - just support each other on this very sad day.

Nosurrender--Nothing to do with March 9.  It seemed easier to make a public announcement than to send some ten PM's to women who support Hillary who might be interested in meeting for lunch.  Economy of words. It's a lunch given by the restaurant Firebird.  The money one would normally pay for lunch will be donated by Firebird (Russian restaurant in the theatre district) to Senator Clinton's campaign.  The normal fixed price meal at lunch is $29 so it's something of a bargain. Eat, meet, and support, all at the same time. Please join us.  You're certainy welcome, but do send me a PM as this post was intended solely as an announcement, and I won't be checking it again.

I am aware of the March 9 meeting and have already indicated my wish to attend, but I was not aware it was a fundraiser.  I thought it was just an opportunity to meet for lunch and get to know other women who share similar problems.

NNN--Can't imagine what a lunch at the Firebird has to do with your friend's passing, although I am very sorry to hear it. I am always distressed to learn of anyone's passing.  I'm sorry, but if you are looking for some type of controversy, please don't ask me to participate. I'm long past the age when fighting with anyone gives me pleasure. I should mention that I won't be checking this thread again.

Thanks to those who send me PM's that you will be coming.  I made the reservations and I look forward to meeting you. I didn't mention it earlier, but wine or beer is extra.
