I am new here and really need to get some advice on losing weight. Since I have always used food to deal with stress...my eating is out of control since I was diagnoised with IDC 05/07. Yesterday I thought I should check out Jenny Craig and what I found really scared me. All of their food contains soy in some form which means it's probably not good for someone like me that is ER+PR+. I think I need to eat whole foods and stay away from processed foods. Help I need some advice, support and motivation. everything i have read says over weight woman have a much higher rate of reaccurance and it scares me.

I strongly recommend you check out Weight Watchers.  They have a couple excellent choices for eating programs that can really help you eat whole foods and lose weight.

    Good luck!

I second Debbie's advice on WW. I've done both of the plans at different times. Currently I am at a healthy weight-20 pounds lighter than I was at this time last year and about 8 pounds lighter than at the start of chemo. I plan to lose about 8 more (still in the healthy range for my height). I have also found The Beck Diet Solution, by judith beck, helpful with the mental side of the weight loss game. beckdietsolution.com for more info. I totaly agree re: the importance of eating whole foods. Allyson
