CindyKS- sorry that you scans did not come out as hoped. Your spirit is still AMAZING as it has been all along. You are most definitely my hero. I truly believe that your fighting spirit will help you!! By the time my aunt was diagnosed with colon cancer, it had spread all through her liver. She put up a good long fight for many many years.

As all the others have said, big hugs to you. I admire your spirit and know that we are all thinking of you often!!

KS....Bimmer has. He's heard of it all!! You should really PM him!

As you can see, he can be a little......too honest.....but, he knows all about all the trip neg drugs out there.

I wish CTG were still with us...she knew a lot too!

High school government? What's that? That must have been that class I missed while doing mushrooms across the street under the big oak tree!

I knew it because....my ex-husband's nickname for me was "mouth". So, both of those amendments are important to me!!

    Cool

Hope you have a good day girls.

LOL I'm not sure I even took government. I took the basic classes because I hated history. Now I'm really interested in it. LOL figures.

I started the new chemo regimine today. I'm feeling ok just tired. I will have it every 3 weeks but the Gemcitabin will be on the 8th day so I will have it again next Friday. They count chemo day as day 1. I'll keep you posted on how I'm doing.

Thanks for all the hugs and support. It really means alot to me.

Traci I would love to come visit you. 85 sounds wonderful when its been below 40 here for like forever.

Hey Traci! I'm around at least...how ya doin?

Got my first guitar, now I have to learn how to play! (One of my post-cancer goals is to sing and make music, because the vibration of song in my chest seems like a healing thing!) Other than that, I'm in tonight because last night I actually went out! Heard music, celebrated, etc., stayed up way too late etc. And ended up with my mast. side arm hurting like heck. One drink, that's all I had.....too much for my system I guess! :( ....)

    Traci,

I would love to be able to come to Florida. I need to waite and see how these new chemo drugs work. I'm nervous about flying with the lymphodema issues I have in my left arm. If I do figure out how to make it it will be a road trip.

So far I'm feeling well. Chemo was on Friday and I've not been sick at all. My energy level was a little low yesterday but today I feel good. I'm tired but that is the normal for me these days.

I'll let you know after a couple of treatments how it is going and maybe we can work something out.

Hugs and love to you as well.

KS....I looked in today's paper to see what the temp was in KS .... I just got it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cindy Kansas!!!! LOL. (or maybe poor Traci...)

: - ) duh. Anyway, it said the high was like 40. burrrrrrrrrr I'm sure that feels like an Indian summer to our girl Mandy but it's colder than you know what here! I'm so glad your doing ok on the chemo. I think about you often...."am I going to be able to handle it as well as she has?).....Love you girl, let me know. I wasn't just saying that to be nice. I mean it with all my being. If you need some warmth and sun....my house is where you need to come! I spent literally....all day long outside on my balcony. Read the paper, drilled my roommate on a test she has coming up, ironed some laundry (yes, I brought my ironing board outside....it was too nice to be inside) had a girlfriend over and talked and listened to music, it was a nice day.

    Come 'on down!!

Amanda.........that is awesome that you bought a guitar! I bought my 14 yr old niece Kate a guitar and she's become to love it. She always loved to sing so I thought it would be a good gift. She's actually getting pretty good. You go girl!!

    Hugs you guys.

KS you hang in there girl. We are counting on you!!!

Traci, the high temperature on Sunday in Minnesota didn't get above zero. And the wind chill was minus-40! Shriek!!!

Traci- you never fail to amuse!! Please tell me you know that CindyMN is from Minnesota and that me, VirginiaNJ is from New Jersey!

Cindy- we are having MN weather here in NJ---my temp reader in my car said 13 degrees. Weathermen in NYC are saying single digits... Brrrrr. I'm not used to this weather. Heck, last week we got up to 60 degrees!!

Thanks all for the kind words RE my Dad. He had one good day this weekend. Mostly bad days. It breaks my heart b/c he knows...and he apologizes... I leave the hospital and sob the whole way home. Emotionally, I am spent. I think I have cried more now than I did my whole BC journey. It's just been awful...

Hope you all are hanging in there and have nice Valentine's Days. It's one of my most (if not THE most) reviled holidays. (Guess it's b/c I don't have a Valentine).

    ((((((VirginiaNJ ))))) Ahh, can't imagine.

Having my mom sick but doing well is hard enough. If she were doing badly, it would be my undoing.

Is there something super nice you can do for yourself to make getting through these harsh experiences a little easier? When it gets warmer, a walk you like to take? A bubblebath? The gym? A nice, distracting trashy book? A DVD series you really like? A new tea? A pet? Fresh-cut flowers? A new CD (or digital download, whatever you do)? If you play music/paint/write/etc., to give all that feeling an outlet that way?

I love mango, and so when I have particularly traumatic experiences I go for the mango smoothie :) Not so good for the waistline, great for the soul. :)

Just thinking about your health, and grief, and how the two can interplay...

Amanda--- thank you for that cyber hug! It helps. I feel like a coo-coo bird...like I am totally cracking up. I basically just go to the hospital and work and that's about it... Tuesday nights is still my one outlet...bowling. Last week we went to the Irish Pub for a beer(s) and some greasy food. So, that was a moment of distraction.

I just a new Pedometer today. I am hoping that it helps motivate me to walk. I used to walk at lunch, but abandoned that when I started my treatment and started wearing the wig (didn't want to walk in the heat and summer with the wig). We have some very beautiful homes behind my office so the neighborhood is beautiful to walk through (multi-million dollar homes). You just have to dodge the multitudes of landscapers! LOL

I have been playing my Nintendo DS like crazy. I also love Janet Evanovich, but am having a hard time getting into the book I currently have out of the library. When I get home from the hospital I am so tired that I just usually vegetable in front of the boob tube...

Anyhow, thanks again for the support. It means all the world to me!!

    Virginia

ps. Glad to hear that your mom is doing well! I was actually thinking of her the other day wondering...just never "verbalized" it!!

What the heck is a pedometer???????

    Hmm 2

I know....I feel like a dummy on the KS thing.....whatever at least I'm not freezing my butt off!! I did think of New Jersey with you...I didn't think of Kansas or Minnesota don't know why....

Ginny, what do you play on that Ninentdo anyway? Pac Man?

Traci- a pedometer measures your steps... The fitness guru's say you are supposed to walk 10,000 steps per day...a minimum of about 3 miles. UGH. So, I hope that this will motivate me...

On the Nintendo, I am obsessed with the Sims 2 Castaways- I have a ship wrecked girl and I have to feed her and clothe her and keep her happy. I am now trying to finish the game 100%. I am up to 89%, so I am close. I also play brain strengthening games - Brain Age 2, Brain Boost, and another one I can't remember (better play those games more). No Pac-Man...that's a little too vintage!! LOL I have way too many games for my DS and I just ordered 2 more. Keeps me out of trouble, although it does prevent me from reading, which is a bad thing...

You make me smile...thank you for that... How close are you to DisneyWorld??

OMG, Traci, that explains your confusion about keeping us Cindys straight! I kept thinking, "Well, plain old Cindy's from California, and me and CindyKS put our states right in our signatures..." It's probably easier for me because I only have to keep two Cindys straight. LOL

    Alright....I get it...Now, I've got you Cindy's straight.

: - ) Aunt Ginny, I am about 1 1/2 hours from Disney. 60 minutes if I haul ass and there's no traffic. Why, you goin'????

    What's a guru?????

    Wink

    Hugs,

    Traci

ps Can I just vent about my roommate a second? She is making me crazy. We live on a small lake, most of the time she is saying "come outside with me!" Tonight, she got home from work, I'm relaxing in the living room watching a funny movie (rare) and she proceeds to have a mile long conversation with her new boyfriend 15 feet from me!!!!!!!!

GAWD.................. my fuse is so short with her. And, when she lived in Detroit and we only saw each other two or three times a year, here, there or in Vegas...we were the best of friends! I'm having a prob with the 24/7 thing.

She is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay messier than I am. I'm sort of a neat freak. She let's her dog go into the pool every time she take him outside so....when he comes back in, he tracks mud and she "drys" him with a towel in about 4 seconds. We have no less than 4 towels right now as I speak hanging on chairs and stuff outside! argh....................................

o.k. Thank you for letting me vent.

    Hugs again, Traci

pss I'm gonna copy and paste this into the singles and drinkin' thread cuz .... I need a drink!!!

    Traci...Very funny!!! And sooooo true!!!!

Hope everyone's doing OK. LeeAnne...I forgot to mention how cute I think your "new" hair looks! Sure wish mine was straight! It's curly and my "ahem" hair is straight...that beats everything!!!

Really have your in my prayers, CindyKS. You have so much to go through...and many of us are over the worst. We love you and care about you. I believe all will be well!

Several of you have "parent" concerns...I'm thinking of you as you care for them. My folks are living in my town...Mom has COPD and emphysema from smoking forever. She doesn't now, but the damage is done. She can't go anywhere because she's afraid she'll catch something...and really get sick. Dad active, but doesn't do much now because of Mom. It's really sad...that's why I want to stay active, exercise, eat well...so my hubbie and I can enjoy a long retirement...and travel!

A close friend of mine was just diagnosed with gall bladder cancer...they say it's really bad and not much you can do for it. The doc sent in her records to see if maybe it could be ovary cancer instead...much more curable. I really feel for her.

    Take care everyone...Lorain

Liz - Wondering how you like your implants? Are they what you expected? How is radiation going? It'll be done before you know it. Thinking of you...

Tracy...do you like your implants any better now? Are either or both of you doing nipples, etc.? I'm counting the days until my exchange. Is your sister doing OK? You haven't mentioned her for a while.

I'll try to post a new picture on the Yahoo site as my hair is growing...I'm dying it every 3 weeks!

    Later...Lorain

No, I still HATE my implants. And nipples, at this point, my attitude is why bother.

Traci! LOL. I sent you pictures of my implants back in December or January. Didn't you get them? I just got a bra from victoria secret that makes them look fabulous. It's padded and wireless and it gives me a nice natural shape and smooths out those scars.

Lorain, Thanks for asking. I like my implants and radiation has been going fine so far. I'm still worried that the radiation will cause capsular contraction but so far so good. I'm sure you'll be so happy when you have your exchange. I hope to be able to die my hair pretty soon. My bald spots are almost gone but hair is still very fine.

CindyMN - you still have your chemo port? Does it have to be flushed monthly, or is that only to keep it in use? Yikes. I had that sucker yanked as soon as I could, and it hurt for two weeks but then I was so much happier. I bet you can't wait to get it out!

Quick update on me: the U/S of the lumpy painful armpit revealed a simple fluid filled cyst - NOT the big C, woo hoo! (sp? whoo hoo?) -- but it also showed "edema."

    As in "lymphedema."

    *&#*&^*&$^(#*&@(*#&($*&(#*&@(

(do I even know a swear word that long? lol...)

So my assessment that my side was swollen and that I have a cyst was correct. So now I'm going to go after the other things that I know and have been dismissed on...such as my clavicle hurting, the side of my neck hurting etc. etc.

I have two shots at getting those things assessed this week - one yearly f/u appt with the breast surgeon and a 3-month f/u with the oncologist. Wish me luck!!

Any questions that you would ask? I need help prepping, I am sooooo tired of thinking about cancer....

Oh, Liz...I'm sooo glad you like yours (implants)! That's encouraging. And Traci, you sent me a picture and I thought yours looked great! Liz, would you consider sending me that picture you sent Traci? My expanders are so far apart that's what I worry about. Lvires@chase3000.com You got a Victoria's Secret bra, huh! I'd like that...would make me feel more womanly!

Amanda - Glad your arm lump was just a cyst. Sorry you're having other problems.

CindyMN - You had your other side done a few years ago didn't you? So now you'll have implants on both sides...or am I remembering wrong? April's coming up!

Hang in there CindyKS! We're thinking of you.

    Lorain
