Ok, I can't believe I'm even sharing this, but I made a vow to help women following my journey.

So, I present to you, one of many really bad chemo hair days.
This was actually just over a year ago, and I think my hair has come a long way since then.  Not literally speaking, of course....Yell

This was one morning on vacation, my hair just fell right into this 90 year old woman's style.  How lucky I am!  Wink

However, feel free to share your shamefully wacky chemo hair, too, so I don't feel so silly, and so the rest of our sisters know that it isn't just them with hair curly on side, straight on the other.......

    Love and prayers, Deb

Awww, Debbie -- you're really cute!

And believe it or not, I had a friend who paid a FORTUNE to have her hair cut/styled in a similar way back in the punk days!  Buzz cut on the sides, big pompadour of wiry curls on top, flopped over to one side...

Not YOUR look of choice, perhaps, but someone's!!!

Look at the colour it's beautiful, who cares about the style. Your hair looks healthy and all I really see is the smile.  And it's nice and thick.pearl49

    Thanks, ladies.

Now, my hair is much different now-a bit longer, almost my old color (used to be reddish), but it is still so stinkin' curly in some  parts, straight in others.

Come on ladies, where are your embarrassing pictures?  Now I feel like a dork for posting them!    EmbarassedFoot in mouth

    he he he he--

I am indeed a rare bird.

I actually LIKE my thinner, straighter hair, post-chemo!!  Before I had what is commonly known as a "jewish afro" thick, curly, uncontrolable, takes 45 minutes to blow dry mop.  Now thin, straight, ten minutes and a little curling iron and I am done!!

Okay so maybe that is lemonade from lemons, but what the heck. . .

Deb, you look "Mavalus!" and if I could spell, I would be dangerous!!

it looks thick and shiny to me....lustrous if I may say....you can always change the style, spike it, high light it, play with it.

Mine is fried from my first coloring job...guy didn't know what he was doing, went for a smoke while I had color on it, than took on another customer...I waited and waited...it' s kaputt now....

and no, I'm not posting a picture Tongue out lol

    God Bless

Oh heck, you guys are really being kind about these pics-

but my hair is really improved from what it was last February!  This shot is my bedhead!

I was so proud of the fact that I woke up with bedhead, and my dh thought I was insane for giving him the camera.

Here is my hairdo as of December 2nd.  I really liked it, too bad it blends in with hubby's shirt.

So, noone wants to display their hair challenges for the world to see?

(Debbie burrows her face in complete embarrassment)

lol... Marlegal, this site makes posting a pic as difficult as humanly possible.

You have to create an account with www.photobucket.com then, you have to upload your pics on that website, then you have to copy the second link....I forget what it's called..then, you have to click on the little tree at the top of this box I'm typing in.....then you have to paste that link....then you have to delete one of the pics cuz they always paste two...then you have to delete (well, you really don't have too) all of the mucklyduck numbers, letters and symbols that for some strange reason post next to your pic...then, you can submit.

If I'm doing something wrong, somebody...please advise.

    Hugs and grins,

    Traci

Hi everyone - I am an almost 2 year survivor!  Yeah!  When my hair started growing back, it came in wire..eeeeee and curly and severely damaged from chemo.  My hairdresser said it was the worst she's ever seen.  She tried working with me using salon products, but what really worked for me were products that a friend of a friend used.  After a few months, my hair started getting healthier and healthier.  My hairdresser is, to this day, still amazed at how thick, and healthy and silky it has become.  I loved my hair before and its been a long road - I am now back to being so happy with my hair.   Hang in there everyone!!

    Traci,
Is that your VIEW?!?!?!  From your HOME?!?!?!

    OMG....jealousy hits again!!!!!

What's wrong with your hair?  You have just the face for a short and sassy 'do!  Wink

I have to giggle at the "good" hair shot I added.  I tried to blow it up so you could see it better, and now we all look really WIDE.   We may all be chubby, but not that bad!

    Love and prayers,Deb

Bad Hair Days!  Thats my life since chemo.  I think the reason I had long hair, is that I was never good at styling it.  So even though Im 2 years post chemo - I still look silly.

If I go to the hairdressor she will style it really cute.  Woe is me, once I have to wash it.  My hair is definitely thinner.  The hairdressor told me she can still see more hairs coming in - and I read somewhere that it can actually take 4 years for your hair to fill out.  I know some of you are lucky and your hair came in thick right away - but not mine.

I wash it with volume shampoo, put in Moose, blow dry it, now Im setting it with hot curlers, then I tease it to give it height.  Then I use that freezing spray hoping it will stay in place.  And it still looks silly.

One thing that has happened to me since surgery and chemo is that I have totally stopped sweating under my arms from bil. mast and node removal.  When I sweat, my entire head sweats.  I can feel it trickling on my scalp.  Once a big sweat comes - which is often cause of hot flashes - my hair goes totally limp.

I wish I could post real pictures.  I have a new camera phone and havent figured out how to get the pictures from the phone to the computer.  I would love to post some of the crazy hairdo's Im coming up with.

Hugs to everyone - praise God - at least we have hair again.

    Traci,

Your hair and my hair look very similar and I have to say it is making me more depressed than anything...chemo was done in Oct and I have to still be in a wig to feel somewhat attractive...I hate this feeling and it is really affecting my self esteem. Everyone thought I was so tough during chemo and radiation but I don't feel that way anymore... I was hoping to have a cute short style by month 7 but it seems as though that it being a little too optimistic..... By the way your eyebrows look amazing!!!!!!!

Me, too!  Mine is short and TOTALLY GRAY!!  I would have given anything for my hair to come back in the original color... BROWN!  But NO, it is platinum silver and gunmetal gray...  UGH!

Your blonde hair is BEAUTIFUL!  You rock!

Harley...I've got two words for you: Hair Dye. : - )

I'm with Barb....I want bangs too!!! And, the scarf is adorable! Much like your little rock!

Deb, as usual you crack me up! "we are all chubby!" LMAO!! You are too funny girl. Yes, I took that pic on my back patio. But, don't be too jealous. It's tiny little Lake St George. You can not even have a "wave making" boat in it. There are lots of alligators though!!

Nicki, I stopped sweating under my arms too except, when I have a hot flash. When that happens, I sweat everywhere but like you, it starts in my head. It's very weird and I do not like it!

    Hugs everybody,

    Traci
