    Beth, You must be a secret Target recruiter.  If not, you'd be great at it.  

    I used to work there, by the way.  I didn't make a dime, because I spent everything there.

    When target first came out, I enjoyed what I felt was a good price on items I would buy at the drugstore.

    But the last few years, Target has become a fashion giant.  And, what stinks, is that the merchandise that is carried in a small volume store doesn't compare to what we get a t a huge store here in NY.  But it is really something. I'm all about subscribing to the theory that good fashion shouldn't break the bank, and everyone deserves to feel beautiful in their clothes.

    Target price points allow me to shop guilt free.  I think they will continue to grow bigger and bigger, and we will see Targets as anchors in malls.

    Bare Assets?  Are they lighter weight?  And, no one has answered my question about where the fluff goes when you wear these undergarments.  I am willing to learn new tricks.

    I have the "roll down" problem as well ....  I bought a shaper and it was supposed to fit right under the bust and it kept rolling down and it became painful ... like a rubber band squeezing me in the middle!!

    Beth ... if you like Target then you will love Steve and Barry's.  Yesterday, I wore the high rise chinos with a pair of heels to work ... fit wonderful and were just under $9.

    I've been meaning to go to Steve & Barry's for months but I keep forgetting. I think that's the store that my step-daughter said has nice things but that their sizing is wacky. I could be wrong about that though. SJP's line there has some really cute and very inexpensive items so I will have to check it out!

    I used to love Target and Old Navy, but like Beth said, Target (and ON too IMO) have gotten way too expensive for what you're getting. I did happen to find the best bathing suit there though (I know, I know, it's WAY too early and I'm WAY too pale and blobby to be thinking about this! LOL) but since I found it, I bought it. It's a black and white stripe with red edging. The bottom stays put which never happens on suits I buy! I bent over and it didn't become a thong when I stood back up!

    For you girls with bathing suits that will NOT stay down over your butt, maybe you need a long torso version.  (I do and I'm only, barely, not quite 5'2".) Many of the major mfgrs. make them these days.  Land's End has lots.  Also mastectomy suits that look stylish.

    The body shaping rollover effect. Yes, I have my tights on today with skirt and high boots because it is freezing, but I have that fat above the tights where the tights are pushing it up. Where to put it, I have no clue. A trochar perhaps?

    like a fat roll in your tummy, over the tights?  Or the fat isn't distributed evenly within the tights?

    You made need a different brand, or size.

    I'm sure you know how to put your tights on... but just for shits and giggles-- you're not pulling one leg up too high and then doing the other leg are you?

    Tina - Are the ones for long torso only 1 piece suits? I could use a bottom that's for long torsos but I don't think there is such a thing.

    My bathing suit issue, (besides the obvious, do I look like a whale, mentality)  is the price.

    I mean, COME ON!!!!  $100 for one stupid little spandexy thing that rides up my ass, doesn't support my breasts, and can give a girl a vaginal infection if its wet and she sits around in it for too long!

    Ugh.

    I wish they had Targets' in Canada, I would love to buy some bare assets, if I have any friends coming from Chicago they will have to bring me some.  This site is a great idea just thanks for starting it.  My sister gave me this gorgeous bebe halter top in oranges, gold, brown, blacks, just beautiful, but way to big.  Anyone want it. It's a size large.pearl49  I'll mail it.

    Oh, I'm a veteran of wearing long leg panty girdles in JUNIOR HIGH school, for crying out loud.  Small wonder I'm resisting pouring my flesh into spanx or bare assets. 

    Laura, yes, I think they are only in one piece suits.  Come to think of it, though, you do have a point about the bottoms.  Although I am only 5'2" I cannot wear petite pants because the rise is too short in petite.  I have to wear regulars and have even bought talls that could be shortened without wrecking the lines.  We girls have to improvise.

    Beth, I agree with you.  The prices on suits are ridiculous.

    I have just the opposite with my swim suits and slacks, I am barely 4' 10", one piece swim suits wrinkle across my waist and even the petite pants ride too high above my waist (almost to my boobs - or what is left), though I did find some Worthington low rise petite slacks at JC Penny that fit good in the waist and rise but still too long in length Yell. Even though they are low rise, they hit at my waist, and my DH says that they make my butt look cute Embarassed (and that's something for a 47 yr old mother of a 22 yr old).

    Sheila- have you ever tried juniors sizing 1-13?  I know it sounds ridiculous, but some friends of mine that are 5', have an easier time with junior sizing.  Macy's has a good variety, also, www.alloy.com

    Have any of you shopped Venus? All of their tops and bottoms (swimsuits) are sold seperate...I usually have to buy a size small top and then a larger bottom - for my Tamoxifen a**! LOL Their clothes...some are cheesy, but some are sexy and fun.

    Beth, unfortunately I am close to a womens 14 in size otherwise I would try the junior sizing. I have too many curves to fit into the juniors. I do sew and can hem the pants, it is just taking the time to do it properly.

    Beth - the fat roll over the tights! I know how to put them on (freakin cracking up here!!! haa). I wear Hue tights; have worn them for years and years. Size whatever medium is and the long length. I just have some fat there. Yes, bathing suits are expensive and a pain in the ass (literally). I got lucky this year with $20 per piece suit.

    Sheila, cute butt in that pants - that is good. Maybe some ultra low rise in petite and you can get them altered?

    laura - do you mean Venus of the suits with the matching scrunchy?? Seriously, they do have some cute suits in the catalog, but I've never ordered one.

    Yeah...that's the one. For those of you that like 1-pieces they have lots of those too. This style top of theirs works great with my prosths (the band around the bottom holds 'em in place and I cut a slit in the lining to slip them into):

    Laura- great bathing suit. The one I just got is similar in design- that band on the top works really well. I just have to make the opening to slip the prosthesis in or find a gel insert to stick in permenantly.

    The photo is great too- that's exactly what I hope to look like by this summer.KissCool

    Snowy - Do you have Meijer in Canada? I know they're around OH and MI. I LOVE that place! Whenever we go to visit family I have to go to Meijer. To the "locals" that's like someone being excited about going to Wal-Mart (but it's better) so I know I look like a crazy person. LOL

    Oh and I have news... we booked a cruise tonight! In April we're going to Grand Cayman, Belize, Honduras and Cozumel! Good thing I already look so perfect ***see comment to Laura*** LOL

    Oh, I remember the long leg panty girdles---from age 11 to 30ish and then on to control top panty hose.

    On finding things that fit if you're petite- I've had some good finds in the boys department. Probably wouldn't work for dressy but for casual clothes boy's sizes can be great- less expensive sometimes too. There is some pretty stylish boys stuff out there.

    BOY'S department???  You mean those creatures with NO HIPS??? LOL 

    I have to say that "our Beth" has been a great help in suggesting what to wear post flap surgery.  BUT, I am now realizing that I must purchase a temporary wardrobe for post op office visits and trips out the front door.  Aieyyyyy! 

    Okay, girls,  aside from looking quite dorky leaving the hospital with baggy pants and a big shirt, where can I find at least one of each of something presentable to wear for about a month while I am recovering?  I need long pants that won't bind at the waist (due to tummy tuck part of surgery and drains for a couple of weeks) and a stylish button front shirt.  I will probably be wearing my old reliable rain parka over all, as it will be the month of April, which, here in NE, is pretty iffy weatherwise.  I already have plenty of slide-type shoes so I won't have to bend over to put them on.  Heaven knows how I'll get the socks on!

    Oh, girls, help me out!  Let's brainstorm!

    That's great that you booked a cruise! Awsome! While in Cozumel...there's a Carlos & Charlies downtown that's fun. They have bar-b-qued shrimp wrapped in bacon! It's deeeelish!

    Tina - I bought a few loose fitting jogging suits. The kind with the hooded zip jacket. The zipper made things easy and I wore a fanny pack to keep my drains in. Then, during chemo, the hood helped to keep my bald head warm! Best wishes to you.

    i wore loose fitting jogging suits too victoria secret catalog has nice ones u can order online

    i got very attached to a over the head hooded sweatshirt i had gotten when i started chemo i would put it on when i was home or sleeping and put the hood on and it made me feel so secure i felt like a little kids again with my security blankey
