Good morning beach bud bunnies! Woke up to the power still on .. yea! .. but got that deep sore throat and cough that are sure tell signs of a cold .. boo ... thanks Audrey lol .. gotta find my Airborne ..
School is closed again today. I'm hoping it rains and warms up hard enough that I don't have to go out and clean my van off .. I don't have to go anywhere before tomorrow so I'll wait and see!
Neesie: Here here! .. add me to the sick of winter group! I don't even have to go out in it like you do and I'm still sick of it. I thought of you last night when a fuse blew and I had to find which one it was. Karl wasn't home and that's His job! lol I did figure it out but what a pain! I had Ava stripped down to her birthday suit and ready to get in the tubbie when it happened! Timing is everything! lol I hope your Mom is okay .. please let us know after the appt. tomorrow.
Susan: Looks like you lived in paradise .. and you moved???
Margo: I watched idol and I think I saw better talent this year than in a long time... what was Josiah thinking though on his second song? He got lucky that they like his talent so much .. I do too, I think he's great. Thanks for setting up on the beach for us. I'm definitely here.
Faith: awww, sad day but you'll always have the memories! I hope today goes slow for you! May I ask what you present at conferences?
Jasmine: What a great song. He is one of my favorite artists of all time.

Good afternoon beach bummies...
It's a whopping 25 degrees outside. We got another layer of snow last night, just to whiten everything up a bit and make things pristine again..It's the best skiing day of the year so far, but dh decided to go to work, and the sunlight is so dazzling I think I'd get blinded if I went out there!!!
Just poppin in to say hello and wish you all a great day!!!
Didn't see American Idol (never watched it) but I'm a Project Runway addict & tonite's the big night (10 pm).
Better go find some sunglasses!!!
Miz
-
I see our "treat cancer-nl" friend is back...........she needs to pop in here so we can sand blast her once and for all!
Not to many of you hanging out at the beach today.........maybe you took Susan's picture seriously and headed to Santa Barbara!!
Hope all are staying safe in this inexcusable weather............Summer is my new chant!
Just got home and need to call my Mom, but I know she'll be a wreck about her appointment tomorrow...........just don't want to deal with it right now.
How's this for a 'work related' injury...................I was changing the sheets on my clients bed............(and to think I went to school to learn how to do that!) Anyhow, her dogs bed is right next to her's, like touching it.......it's filled with something slippery cuz I slid on it today and whacked my knee a good one! Hoping it didn't tear anything, cuz that baby is sore!
Hugs,
Neesie
-
Faith, so glad you got to spend time at the real world beach.
Jasmine, that was a great skit. Loved EJ's outfit.
Hi Neesie, I called you and you didn't answer. Have you broken up with me??? Good luck tomorrow with MOM.
Angel, yes, I loved living in SB. It's a hard place to make a living so that's why I ended up leaving. My company wanted to transfer me to Northern California. So I left.
Somebody pass me the sunscreen.
My lips are sealed.
-
Miz .. shhh, idol is a guilty pleasure of mine lol I like PR too but never seem to catch it when it's on
Neesie .. hope that knee is feeling alright by now, ouch!
Susan .. Gotchya. That's too bad about SB. Beautiful place. Passing the sunscreen.
Jas .. hope you're not working too hard
-
Oh, I know where everyone's been today .. jogging along the beach ...
-
OK..OK...I know this is a *beach* thread...but I just got back from the most wonderful ski. I decided to have supper ready when Erik came home so we could get going right away. We were out the door at 6:01 and it was still quite bright out. As we climbed the first hill, Erik called to me over his shoulder, "Hey, you know, we could be inside drinking!!!" HA HA We managed to get to the half way point on top of a hill right around 6:30 when we began losing light...but everything got very soft & beautiful.
The moon had risen by the time the sun set, and was shining brightly as we crossed the bridge over a stream...I asked Erik to stop and we just stood there in the dusk and enjoyed the stream and looked up at the moon...and listened to the silence for a few minutes. Then we got going again!!!
Just got home & feel great!!

Char, Dayquil or Sudafed during the day and Nyquil at night - remember, I was sick last week - two days later I was fine. I think Idol is going to be so much better than last year. I like it now because it's getting down to where I can remember who is who.
Neesie, hope everything is ok with your mom.
Susan, our best friend got married in Santa Barbara a few years ago. Very nice but very expensive.
Miz, that sounds very nice but I still prefer my beaches.
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and we decided that instead of dinner we're going to go see Fool's Gold....I'll watch Matthew McConahay (sp) with his shirt off - don't need no dinner when I can look at him for a few hours!
-
NC beaches had some falling rain today...finally! We sure need it and hopefully more is to come during the weekend.
Hi to everyone and a Happy, early Valentine's Day!
angelcharlene...wow,you have some awesome pics! I loved the one abt beach friends and the wings through the skies, the little girl on the beach and the jogger! It is almost tempting to risk annoying the cranky knee joints to take up jogging, again! I am assuming that the jogger will be there running along the beach like so many beaches I have visited!
Jan...those are the most beautiful four-year-old twins! I imagine,at times, they tune-up like all kids do. However, pictures sure make kids look so angelic! Well, most of the time, they're angels if they are not your own! LOL
faithandfifty...your trip has sounded awesome! Hope that you have had a great time and it sounded relaxing.
Marsha, great abt your play! So proud of you and know your family is,too! Hope that you have a great visit with them. Thanks for saying I can remember things--however,I go to the groc store and forget the easiest things on the list! Can't wait to see some more pics--maybe post some in costume if you will. We can't wait to see them!
Margaret...Maui...oh,that sounds awesome! I said last yr that I was going to hide in your suitcase! This yr,I will definitely be there---the water and the food, just is wonderful! Enjoy it all and post those great pics! The water is the most beautiful colors. Matthew McConaughey-any day, love that voice and he is easy on the eyes,as well! Enjoy the movie!
Jasmine...neat song every day! I love Elton John and that was when I first began teaching! Wow,to think how many hits he has had! Great song and the animations were neat!
Mizsissy...can't even fathom that cold weather you are describing! The skiing sounded fun. Here,at the beach, much warmer--nearly time for water skiing here!
Amy...love the beach when it rains! Finally, the rain moved this way and we need it! Glad you had some your way and hope your little goats are doing well. Do I call them kids? They are so tiny and pretty!
Susan...I listened and never heard a big crash;so,I hope dh was fine in the snow/ice stuff. Wow! It seems your area got lots this yr and more this wk.
Come on down to the sun...well,rain-but,at least no snow! Yet....
Brenda/BMD...78 degrees sounds fabulous! I like the sounds of those warm temps! Perfect for the beach, for real! I do remember those cute lifeguards and yrs ago,all that zinc oxide would be so odd on the tanned face! They had the Sea &Ski lotions, too, and walking along the beach...could smell the fragrance near the stands! Of course, everyone tried to move near with their towels! LOL I went to high schl five mins away from the beach!
purplemb...great to see you and glad for the rept abt your mom. A neat drink with an umbrella would be great.
neesie...did you say 70 inches of snow? Wow...that is snow snowplowing and shoveling. We have none this yr...usually have some. Crazy weather!
Hello to all of the beach buds! Love this thread and the tranquility here!
Going to go snooze to the sounds of the rain hitting the windowsills...see you for a mid-morning walk on the beach! Who knows might even be up to see the lovely beach sunrise? See you tomorrow....
Iris

Iris, you know...I can't fathom your warm beach weather. When I see those palm trees, blue water and chairs in the sand, it looks awfully nice, but right now it just seems like a crazy fantasy!! Do places like that really exist? Now, on earth? When I look out my window that possibility seems very unlikely.Just watched Project Runway...my favorite designers are in...but considering I liked them all I couldn't lose (well, I didn't really like Rami all that much). With the skiing & all this excitement I'm too reved up to sleep right away.
Sweet dreams mermaids...maybe I'll dream I'm at the beach!

Hoping you all have a wonderful day. Filled with lots of love and of course Chocolate.

to wake up at the beach, on Valentine's day, with my DH and a morning of sunshine before i must fly out -- how much better could life get? yes, mizzy our own country is 'big enough' that while you're avidly skiing in powder, i'm walking barefoot in a tanktop in sandy powder. it's true, i know because i keep pinching myself.
back to 'real life' later today, for now, must savor every moment.
love to each of you, as the sands fall thru my hourglass.......
-
Happy Valentine's Day to my beach buds
-
Hi girls, Happy Valentine's Day.
Iris, your posts are so good.
Miz, yup, there are really areas with palm trees, blue water and chairs in the sand at this time of the year Snow is 4 hours from me, which is why they say I live in Paradise - snow 4 hours away, palm trees, 5 hours away, beach 20 min., gambling 1-1/2 hrs by plane or 4 hours driving - I'm smack dab in the center of everything.
NNN, of course I always need chocolate.
Char, feeling better today? Come lay out your towel to soak up some of those sun's healing rays.
-
Miz, that sounds pretty but I'd want to be inside looking out at that scene!
Iris, love the rain beach picture!
Faith, nice that you are savoring the moments
Margo, nope, feeling crappy still. Audrey's dad is doing my Brownie's parent duty for me this afternoon. Bummer because I'd like to go but I'm just not up for it today. Glad he's able to do it. How was 'Fool's Gold?'
I think this sun looks quite healing today ...
-
Happy Valentines Day - let's enjoy the day on the beach!
-
Don't have much time, trying to get the house cleaned and groceries, etc with my folks coming down. Here's the picture in costume from my show. This was in todays paper:
-
Good morning Beach Friends. Sorry I've been lax on posting. My elderly neighbor fell and broke her arm and I've been staying with her until her son could come stay with her. She's going to be fine, she just can't do things like cook, drive, etc. for a while.
In honor of Valentine's Day, here's an oldie but goodie:
-
Morning beach bums. Happy Valentines Day!
Marsha-excellent picture. Love the wig,,lol.
Miz-sking sounds like so much fun. Been a while since I did that. I'm thinking with the bone mets my onc. might not like that too much.
Jaz-hope your neighbor is doing better. How nice of you to help out.
Liz-nice picture.
iris-yep you call them kid. they are as cute as can be and since the rain brought in the cold weather they are snuggling at night with their mother. They got grain yesterday which they always do but yesterday they came running up to eat it and that was the 1st time they had done that. They are just as cute as can be.
Charlene-I used to be a jogger believe it or not. My body now doesnt look like it though.
Margo-I must say you do live close to everything. A short drive could get you anything you want.
Suz-passing you the sunscreen cause being sunburned never feels good.
Brenda-your weather sounds wonderful. I didnt realize you were that close to the ocean.
Nessie-kinda hard to explain how you got that workmans comp injury isnt it? Not everybody can say they slipped on a dog bed.
hello to everyone cause I am sure I left somebody out but its never on purpose. My brain just cant remember everything that it needs to.
Amy

Happy valentines day every one.
Bragging are we, Margo??? LOL
Thanks for the song jaz.

Angel, I hope you are feeling better.
What a great idea Liz, writing "happy valentines day" in the sand. Did you get up early to do that?
-
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Liz: Good seeing you here again..like the picture!

Amy: Best you stay at the Beach and off the ski slopes! I'm ready for more kid pics.
Susan: Thank you. It could be worse .. it's just a cold. Wish I had some chicken corn soup though!
Miz: Cool painting. Is it one of yours?

-
Angel -- thanks for letting me know! I fixed the link. Good grief. I guess I wasn't quite awake when I posted. Ya think?! ROFL!

Happy Valentine's Day, beach bums!
-
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!
Biker, that is just too much!!! You're breakin my heart..they remind me so much of my "babies"...our two kitties that we lost last year. They were eighteen years old, they completed our first family.
DH used to say, "we had them out of wedlock."

Yes! Life is wonderful. I have had such a wonderful Valentines Day. My husband has made it special. This is one of my favorite Holidays. Love is in the air.
Liz: I loved your pick of the heart in the sand.
Margo: Chocolate. Yes lots of chocolate. I have a chocolate fountain with pieces of cheesecake to use for dipping. Decadent I say.
Susan: Why wouldnt I think of friends who enjoy spending time at the beach? Hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day. My husband has cooked a wonderful dinner, got my favorite chocolate turtles and 29 roses. One for every year we have been married.
Hope your evening is great.
