    Hi - I just moved to San Diego from Indiana. I had breast cancer last summer, with a lumpectomy and radiation. I am looking for a great

    oncologist here in San Diego....anyone have a referral?

    Donna,

    I from Georgia so can't help much with a referral but I suggest you look on this board further down under BEYOND TREATMENT and there is a thread called GET TOGETHERS and I think there is a very active group from the San Diego area that gets together monthly.  You could probably post your question there and get a great deal of help as well as make some great friends who have been there.

    Hi Donna - Welcome to the perfect weather of San Diego in mid-winter! Laughing As Nancy mentioned above (thanks, Nancy!), there is a regular monthly lunch bunch that meets for support and friendship and chat and fun in various areas of the county. We'd love to have you join us! This month we're in DelMar; next month, more central, in the Little Italy area. For someone new to the area, it'll also help you learn the different areas of town besides making new friends.

    As far as an oncologist, mine is within the Kaiser HMO, but surely one of the other ten or so women who will be joining us will be happy to give you a referral.
