My last taxol is next week.  I want to detox myself.  There is so much information online and I just want a simple answer.  Can anyone give me advice from experience?  I had the good fortune of being given some gift certificates for massage with someone that specializes in cancer patients and my first one was absolutely heavenly.  She explained to me the benefits of the massage and getting things moving so forth.  She also suggested the detox method where they soak your feet with this ion thingy and how it draws out toxins and so forth.  I will definately do that.  Anyway, any knowledge will be so appreciated.  I want all that gunk out of me.

    Thanks,

    Lisa

Hi Lisa, this "detox" by soaking your feet is  a farce, sorry to say.  It's just a ph thing that turns the water/solution a different color to make it look like they have "drained" your body of "toxins".

If you want to "detox" drink plenty of water and wash the chemo out of your body thru your kidneys and liver, that's the way to get rid of it.  It's simple and easy.  Not as sexy as seeing the solutions change color, and certainly not as expensive, but it really works.

Now, massage therapy IS GREAT for you!!! if you have a good massage therapist.  Enjoy and continue massage on a regular basis!  I highly recommend it.
