HELLO LADIES,
I AM NEW TO THESE MESSAGE BOARDS -BUT NOT NEW TO BC. DX IN O4 - LUMPECTOMY/CLEAN MARGINS - 16 NODES/ALL NEG. - ER-PR/POS. - 36 RADS W/BOOSTS - ARIMIDEX 5 YEARS.
MY QUESTION -- HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF SOMEONE WITH MY DX AND TREATMENT - GETTING IBC THIS FAR OUT?
MY BREAST IS STILL SORE - AND PROBABLY FROM MILD LYMPHEDEMA PLUS SCAR TISSUE AND RADIATION.
I GOT A BUMP BEFORE CHRISTMAS ON THAT BREAST AND THAT AREA IS BRUISED (DR. OFFICE SAID IT WOULD TAKE A WHILE TO GO AWAY) ---- BUT NOW I HAVE A PINKISH RED AREA GOING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE BREAST.
DO YOU THINK THIS IS JUST FLUID OR SOMETHING ELSE?
LET ME ADD THAT I AM ONE OF THE FEW WHO'S BREAST NEVER WENT DOWN MUCH AFTER RADS. THEY SAY IT IS RARE BUT DOES HAPPEN.
SORRY THIS GOT SO LONG ---- JUST WONDER IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THIS?
THANKS
JOAN

Joan:
I do not know how to answer your question about having bc then years latter getting IBC.
Regarding the pinkish read area I suggest that you either talk to your onc or your surgeon regarding this and ask them if they know anything about IBC. IBC is very aggressive and moves fast.
Hugs from Michigan
Laura

Hi Joan,
There is a gal on here who developed IBC after dealing with BC years ago. Her name is kimmie39. She may have more answers for you.
As far as the symptoms of IBC, mine was pinkish purplish and steadily grew and grew, as my skin got thicker and dimpled.
When you say you "got a bump" do you mean you bumped your breast or you developed a bump? Good luck and hopefully you figure out what is happening and that it isn't IBC. -
LAURA AND SUNNEEDAZE,
THANKS FOR ANSWERING. I WAS COMING OUT OF A PUBLIC BATHROOM AND ANOTHER LADY WAS CHARGING IN AND I WAS AT JUST THE RIGHT PLACE AND THE DOOR HIT ME IN THAT BREAST. IT HURT SO BAD AND WAS BRUISED RIGHT AWAY. THAT WAS TWO MONTHS AGO. THE ORGINAL BRUISE IS FADING BUT I HAVE THIS PINKISH RED AREA GOING DOWN THE SIDE OF MY BREAST NOW. THERE IS NO NIPPLE INVOLVEMENT AND IT SEEMS TO GET A LITTLE BETTER WITH WARM COMPRESSES, IS WORSE AT THE END OF THE DAY - BETTER IN THE MORNING.
I AM NEW TO THIS BOARD AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK IT. HOW DO I FIND kimmie 39?
THANKS,
JOAN
