I know markers are not the tell all; but I'm curious how others have moved during treatment.  Even though I've had a very aggressive bc and had multi surgeries and chemos.  Even with extensive lymph involvement (54 nodes positive) I never broke more than a marker of 48.  I would drop with each surgery to about 19 and within 2 to 3 months I be back at high 30's.  Chemo's did not effect my markers much at all.  I know mets move you quickly to the thousands but how about you who don't have mets?  Mine is 16 right now even though they say I still may have a spot deep in my chestwall.

    Hi FlaLady,

I'd say a serum CA 27/29 is fabulous if that's the marker done.

I'm hoping the scan suggesting a deep spot is reflective of a burnt out finding.

Glad you continue to do well. You (as do all) deserve it!

Edit: Stated in the context that your tumor markers fluctuated (up-down) in the presence of active disease.T.

    Hey,

I was just dx with lung mets and I have 'perfect' numbers.  Onc says they can never be used to guage how I"m doing.  I will always have to be scanned.  Crap.

    Watson,

I agree... crap on scans.  I have been scanned at least every 2 to 3 months since I started two years ago.  I sure I'm glowing.

Did you get a appt at MD Anderson yet?
