I listen to Dr Ronald Hoffman on my favorite radio station WOR and the podcast I listened to today involved an interesting interview with the author of the book, "The Whole Soy Story. The Dark side of America's favorite health food" It's kind of an expose about soy and I have to consider maybe that's the missing link for me. For years,I drank soy shakes, supplemented with soy lecithin(I just loved the taste of those little pellets), tofu & tempeh(which isn't too bad according to her) and ate the soy burgers, etc...FOR YEARS. I thought I was diversifying because I ate various kinds of soy but now I'm thinking  I was on soy overload. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Moderation is my mantra now. All things in moderation.

She says that Asian countries typically use soy as a condiment not as a main course as we are prone to do.

Anyhow, with all the discussions about soy, I thought a lot of you would be interested in listening to the podcast. The author also has a website and she said she answers all her emails so if anyone has any specific soy questions.

You don't need an ipod to listen to it on your computer-btw

I ate soy also.  The year before I was dx'd I ate everything soy there was.  Soy milk, and on and on.  Soy bacon is awful.

From what I found out later, the soy probably helped the cancer grow and it became invasive.  We can't take it back and all that time I thought I was eating healthy.

For the two years prior to my diagnosis, I took a 2 times daily one in the morning and one in the evening "natural" supplement that contained soy... Now that I have been diagnosed ER+ ,PR+ I have thrown these supplements in the garbage.  I am not sure if they had anything to do with my BC...but with all the contradictory things out there about soy supplements...who wants to take a chance.
