Hey girls~
TGIF! (Thank God I'm Fabulous! LOL!)
Are we in agreement for April 11 - 13? If so, I will ask my boss about taking off Fri 4/11.
Where's Susan?
-
Donna, those dates work for me! Anyone else??
-
I'll pm Susan right now, since this is her thread.
Dates are good for me. We do need to make sure that there is not a big group in the area that wkend, that would take all of the rooms and spike the rates.
-
I pm'd susan and if I don't hear back by Th or Fr, I'll call her.
-
Hi friends~
I just looked on the Eureka Springs calendar of events for April 11 - 13. There's a UFO Conference at the Best Western that weekend, but I doubt it's that big a deal, as far as gobbling up available rooms. On Sat 4/12 is a "gallery walk"
-
Are you serious Donna, UFO conference!
For seem reason, I think that's funny, like there may be some extra-terristial tourist in town.
-
thanks for letting me know Christine. I'm so excited. April 11-13 is great for me. I'll be there with bells on. would you like me to check on rooms somewhere???
I had no idea that anyone had ever answered. Last time I chceked it was very quiet.
UFO conference! two funny. Maybe we can meet some aliens.
I will send everyone who has posted a PM and see who is still interested.
-
ok, i'll start looking for cheap places to stay. any suggestions?
sorry I haven't been around. I've been working too much.
-
Those dates are as good as any. Health permitting, I will be there.
-
UFO conference!!!!! LOL
I should be able to make it. Don't have a reason today as to not being able to.
-
susan--count me in!
-
ok, liz, kari and junie. glad to hear from you. Junie do you have any suggestions about places to stay?
-
I am not kidding about the UFO conference! Check it out! I'll bet we see some aliens! Eureka is known for attracting unusual folks anyway! (and they haven't even seen all of us together LOL!)
When I was there in Sept, sisters and I stayed at a B&B which we loved, but it's a little pricey, so regular hotel rooms would probably be less $$. I'd love to stay at either the Crescent or Basin...if I get time later, I'll check into prices. They're both located right in the middle of town (within easy walking distance to shops & restaurants) and both historic....does anyone have a problem with alledgedly "haunted" hotels, which both of them are supposedly.
MB - are you still in?? Come and see the aliens with us!
-
Donna, I am going to try... got to see how mom does.. by then she should be on a schedule.. and getting ready for PINKSTOCK... I am going to put her in charge of something... should we do a mass? she could get into that job...lol..
And I want to see aliens...lol.. oh wait I see my kida everyday...lol
Anyway I would love , will check in in a few weeks... thanks

Hi, I am from kansas, interested in talking with someone close, would like to start a support group, triple neg, or not. 1st year anniv. with bc. having heart problems since finishing chemo and rads. can't seem to find answers. thanks linda
-
Hi Linda,
Sorry that you're having heart problems. I cannot offer any advice in that regard, but perhaps someone else can. There are many topics covered on bc.org that address specific diagnoses and medical issues, including a section titled "Connecting With Others With A Similar Diagnosis" where there is a thread for triple neg.
I hope you can find answers to your questions. Congrats on your first year anniversary or cancerversary as we say.
-
well i've done some checking
budget hotel is $58 /night 2 beds. this might not be the best place.
Basin is $89/night 2 beds (downtown)
Crescent is $159/174 per night 2 beds (downtown?)
Comfort Inn is $71.00/night/2 beds
I googled Eureka Springs Hotel. I don't think I want to spend $159/night. Do you want to put 4 in a room. I think I would like to have my own bed and share a bed with one other person.
-
So great to see all the OK people on here. I would love to hook up with you, but I am going to Eureka Springs on the 4th of April for a wedding and don't think I can make it back that soon. I will just stay in OKC and wish you all the best of times.
Ann
-
Hmmm need to look at my finances - with Pinkstock and my surgery in Feb.
Linda - where in KS are you?
Ann - I'm in OKC quite a bit. I had all my surgeries there and have a cousin in Moore, one in OKC and one in Edmond. LOL We'll have to try to get together sometime.
-
Liz,
What surgery in Feb. are you having. In OKC? Who is Dr.?
Would love to get together sometime.
Ann
-
Linda, where are you located in Kansas. I think support groups are great.
Liz, what surgery are you having in Feb?
Ann, sorry you won't be joining us. Maybe next time.
-
Susan--thanks for checking on some hotel prices. The Crescent and Basin are probably top of the line for expense, but numerous other places to stay. There are lots of really neat B&Bs and motels. Do a google search--Eureka Springs, AR. A site should come up--Eureka Springs, The Extraordinary Escape. From there, you can request a Eurekan brochure from the chamber of commerce that will show lots of places to stay, along with restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc.
I suggest trying to stay at a place that has a trolley stop. Parking is scarce and expensive when you're lucky to find a spot. The trolley is a fun way to get around, especially if you can catch it at your hotel and get back without driving. Within Eureka Springs itself (very tiny place) lots of things are within walking distance--but, it is not called the Little Switzerland of America for nothing. I can walk from the top to the bottom without a problem, but if I'm at the bottom--somebody go get the car!!!
It is just a fun, terrific place to visit--looking forward to it!!!
junie
-
thanks Junie, I'll get that brochure. To get rooms in April, how long do we have.
-
I'm having some "tweaking" done to my left recon side. Nothing major.
Ann yes it's in OKC (outpatient) and Dr. Taylor is my PS. She's chief of plastics at Mercy.
Still planning on going to Eureka Springs. Sounds like a great time. I'll know more after this is done.
-
Hey Liz,
I don't know Dr. Taylor. I was hoping to find someone to do the tweaking of my DIEP here. I will have to check on her.
Hope it all goes well, keep us informed.
Ann
-
Hi, Susan--I'm requesting a brochure also! There shouldn't be a problem with rooms even a couple weeks ahead of time. I don't think the UFO Conf draws a large enough crowd to take up all the rooms available in Eureka. I can't recommend any one place--we've stayed at several places and enjoyed each one of them.

BoooooooooooooooooHoooooooooooooooooooooooo.....you all are trying to sneak away without me! I must have misbehaved at PinkStock last summer!Susan just told me what all were up to today..............
For real, I lived in a haunted apartment and SAW a UFO..............no crap......in the Upper Penninsular of MI.
Gee, just got a SW notice of tickets from here to St. Louis for $45. one way, but the offer is only good till March something.
So............as my friends know.................Geography isn't exactly my 'strong' point...................I take it, OK, MO and AR are all close together????
Now you got me wishing and wanting..................................
Hugs,
Denise
-
neesie--close in a relative way! (kinda like the four corners of quilt squares that are joined together) Hey, give ChristineK a chit-chat--she's planning to drive down fromn St Louis and was asking if anyone wanted to ride or be picked up along the way!!!
-
Neesie--forgot to add--I lived in the UP years ago, south of Sault Ste Marie--didn't see any UFOs, but did have a scare from the Northern Lights and had a St Elmos fireball shoot through my house there!!!
(I hear eerie music in the background!!! LOL)
-
What is a St Elmos fireball?
