Hi Maryl,
Geez, Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I'd given up on checking this thread. Seems most of the gals live near the DC area or up north. I think Tender lives up north too. Another gal recently PM'd me from the DC area, which is a little far for us to get together. I did hear back from a lovely lady in the Arlington area. We met once when she was down this way in Rocky Mount and keep in touch through email.
You actually aren't too far from me. My sis lives in Salem and boards her horse in Catawba, which is a hop, skip and jump from VA Tech country.
BTW - I saw your hair pic's. Gorgeous!!!
Maybe we can keep the thread alive and find a place somewhere in the middle and plan a luncheon.
If not, let me know when you're available and maybe we can meet halfway.
Glad to meet you!

Tender - I think you're in VA, up north somewhere, if I remember correctly?
Check in with us if you can. I'm going to see if I can find the old VA link.
Okay, I found it. We can always find a way to come your direction, as I think I'm the southern-most VA gal in the bunch.
In fact, I'm going to start PM-ing all the VA gals I can think of.

Hi Virginia ladies!
I'm in Fredericksburg, in between DC and Richmond. But..... my son is hoping to attend VA Tech next year, so I may be down your way every once in a while!
I have a group I meet up with from the Susan Komen site - we call ourselves the "Virginia Vixens". We usually meet in Richmond for lunch. If anyone would like to join us, or if you decided to meet somewhere, let me know! I'm always up for a road trip!

I'm in Forest, VA which is between Lynchburg and Bedford.
-
Northern VA for me. I'd be happy to head south or south west if neuropathy behaves.
Any one think Richmond as a central meeting ground or is this too off the path?
Tender -
Hi Virginia Ladies,
I'm going to have to get out a map of VA to find out where we all are! I know where VA Tech is cause my sis lives in Salem near Roanoake!! And Lynchburg is north and east of me. We need to get Layne and Donna in on this as well. I believe they are somewhere near Arlington.
So, since I'm the southern-most gal, I'll be glad to head in any direction you guys want. Layne posted on another thread that she'll be gone all of January, so maybe we can get this organized for mid Feb. or early March. It might take us a couple of weeks to find all the VA girls.

Tender, let me know what I can do to help!
Love,
Bren

Hi all-
Just checking in, and saw this post again. Keep me in the loop - I'd love to meet everyone!
Tender - where are you in Northern VA? (I work in Northern Virginia, near Springfield Mall) If I asked you this before, forgive me - my memory isn't what it used to be!! (just ask my kids!) :-)
Theresa
-
Not far from where you work, Theresa.
So, would a date in February or early March work during a (slightly extended) lunch hour.
I'll try to start rounding us all up by name, and put out some proposals. One great restaurant is a straight shot up or down 395: great food, nice ambiance, and reasonable prices.
BinVa probably could use a tour of the area of the Mall too.
Would any of the MD or DC ladies like to join in? It's been a while...
All the best,
Tender -
Count me in! I'm in Falls Church, 10 miles out of DC.
Dawn
-
Tender,
Count me in ... but could we do it about 1:00 p.m. somewhere. I think you guys are about 5 hours from me!! I'm near Martinsville. Layne's up north by you guys, so I'll get in touch with her too.
Thanks,
Bren
-
count me in...also in the northern va area
-
Can it be on a Saturday or Sunday?
I trip down 395 is a little much for me to work in at lunch during the week.
-
Donna's in VA too, up north. Geez, I think I'm the only one on the southern side! A weekend would be great for me cause I have a long drive.
Tender ... thanks for keeping this going!!

Hi y'all, Brenda told me about this group or I would have been clueless. I'm up on the Washington Beltway, working in Tyson's Corner. Richmond is do-able for me, I drove down there a few times for training, it's about a 90 minute ride. But I need fool-proof directions because I find the roads down there confusing.
-
Hi Donna,
Not only do I need fool-proof directions, but I have to allow at least an extra 1/2 hour for getting lost time!
We'll just keep working on this and hopefully by springtime we can gt something worked out!!
Good to hear from you ... hope all is well!
love,
Bren
-
Bren, Oh, I wish there were some more gals closer our way that I could join in too - Something not quite so far to drive. Well, maybe next time
Brenda

Hi Brenda,
I just saw a new gal posting in the newly diagnosed who lives by you. Also lvstoquilt lives right by you to. I think they were both treated at the Frye Center.
Thanks for jumping in Naniam ... catch up with soon!

Okay it is almost March, I have severel things to attend in March. Anyone have a date?
Keep me posted PLEASE!
-
I think I'm the one who is far south, about 80 miles north of Bristol Tenn.
My mom lives in Aldie near Middleburg, so I can come up early ...
-
I live in Roanoke, VA. And would like to meet somewhere close by. I have an old car that can't go too far......this would be fun. Carol
-
Hi Carol,
You aren't too far from me. I'm near Martinsville and my sister is in Salem. I think Mary is near Blacksburg and VTech. Most all of the gals are further north and east and so far we haven't been able to pull anything together.
Hopefully, Mary will be along and maybe the three of us could get together in Roanoke. I believe there are a couple more ladies nearby, but can't remember who they are.
Keep checking in Carol and I will too. Hopefully some others from this part of VA will jump in.
Also, if you northern gals get something together, please let me know ... I'll drive up for it!!
love,
Bren

Carol, it is the cost of Gas too, maybe we can do something when the weather is a little cooler. The Relay got the best of me this past Friday. I just can't take the heat like I did before BC.
Roanoke is a good meeting place, or you can ride with me Carol. That would be fine with me, Natural Bridge is very very pretty. Just make sure you all PM me or something.

As you can see, I had brain overload....We need a plan ladies.....Say August 9th , 2008 That is a Saturday. How does Luray Caverns sound? I may be able to get free tickets for us to go into the caverns. I can take three with me if you need a ride from down the southern part of Va. Maybe share the gas expense.

Hi Ladies,
Just checked this thread today and wanted to say hello to everyone. I live in Southwest VA--in Bristol. It's about 1 1/2 - 2 hours from VA Tech.
