    Please take a look at the story that was shown of Fox News today about a company in Houston that just launched a blood test for definitive diagnosis of breast cancer. They plan to make the test available via 40+ locations around the US this year. The story indicated a 90% accuracy and the ability to detect the disease 6-10 years before mammogram. The story included a woman who had a negative mammogram and a positive blood test.

    They say it's 100% accurate in detecting Parkinson's disease also.  Anything that is proven to be 100% accurate will get FDA approval for at least that part.  90% for BC, I can see the FDA giving them grief over that.  

    I didn't see the part where they said it will be available this year?  Was it in the report?

    I didn't see it either, but I will be asking my onc. in July when I go back.  This looks promising.

    Thanks Trish it worked and I've saved it to my favorites, I've got quite the collection going on my favorites now for information, my Doctor is always slammed with this stuff. He's pretty good he wanted to see my video of my cat cleaning, well licking my viens. And my cat just licks and licks and licks he stopped while I was on chemo plus I wouldn't let him. I didn't know if the meds would sweat out a bit and he would get sick from them.  But he stopped for awhile and now he's back to holding down my hand or foot and licking it as clean as he can again. I'll have to tell my Doc about he believes that animals can tell before us if we have a disease. He's really an interesting Rad onc., he know Dr. Susan Love and last week cancelled my appt. because he was having lunch with one of the Drs. from the San Antonio Conference, which I told him I wasn't to impressed with.  It was funny he was surprised. I asked him to check out our site and also that he'd probably learn alot.  Gosh he's probably going to see this if he's done what I recommended. Sorry for going on and on.     The article reads that the test will be released to 'high risk cancer centers' later this year. I hope my dr's group is one of those!!  Wow!

    I emailed to find out about the test.  It isn't covered by insurance companies and the cost is $500.  They emailed me back some info about the test, looks like the orders that my doc would have to fill out, and then a qualifying lab would have to do the blood draw. 

    My mom had her appointment w/ her breast onc.  I asked her about the test and the company.  She said she hadn't heard of them yet.  What she did say was lots of companies are looking a "test", but she didn't think any of the companies where there yet, but to look for them in the future.  So her advice was to wait and not spend the money. 

    I'm really hoping these tests prove to be fruitful.  My husband did some research on the company, and something funny turned up, lots and lots of the higher ups in the company were selling lots of stock, and looking at the balance sheets they seemed to be running out of money unless they find a new investors.  Of course thats my husbands take, he no financial advisor or planner.  I was all hopeful, maybe put some money in the stock, but after some research we put a halt on that.  Maybe the current testing going on in the middle east will turn out some great results.
