I was wondering if anyone has had this experience.  My chemo was in the fall of 2005 and I haven't had a period since October 2005.  Today I woke up with bleeding.  Waiting for the doctor to call back but has anyone heard of someone getting their period back so long after chemo.  I am 43 and BRCA2 positive.  Thanks.

It's not outside the realm of possibility...but I would get things checked out as it IS a long time to go without getting one.  Are you on Tamoxifan?

I started chemo in Nov 06 and had my last period (so far) in Dec 06.  I was so happy.  However, the other night after my husband and I "got happy" I had a small bit of pink on the toilet paper afterwards.  Kind of freaked me out.  Nothing since. I really hope once they leave, they never come back.  At least that is what I am counting on.  Bonny

    Oh,

Oh, just for the record, I am done with treatment.  I went today for my post op after having my port removed on Jan 22.  I don't have another dr visit until April 28.  Finshed my Herceptin on January 7, 2008.  I am so happy!

I had my last chemo in Jan '05 and didn't have a period again until Sept or Oct of '05. Was surprised to get it, too, because I thought I was "all done." They come for about 6 months and then go away for about 6 months... it's been pretty predictable since.

BTW I was 41 at diagnosis, 45 now.
