organizing frequented boards
I know I'm beating a dead horse by bringing this up again, but after expanding and scrolling through 5 sections just to find the Reconstruction board, I am annoyed.
Would it be possible for us to have a way of moving the specific boards we frequent to the very top of that main page where they are all listed? I would think putting a check box next to the boards would work. Check the box and that board gets popped above the entire list that has to be expanded and collapsed.
I know it seems petty, but navigating the boards is what you do when you come here! Please Mods, please consider it! I will be your slave for life (if you can find me
)

Erica,
On the top page of this entire forum, each category has the link "collapse" on the right end. If you click on one of those you don't always read, it will collapse and only the title of the board will be left. Collapse each board that you don't read. That way, you don't have to scroll down too far to get to the board you are frequent.
Hugs,

You can also put your favorite conversations on your home page and just click on that, I think.

Poppy-
I'm waiting for them to get the RSS feeds up so we can just access
our favorite threads from our IGoogle or Yahoo homepages. They did mention that that was a future improvement to come.

Thanks Fumi, I keep everything collapsed but I still think there are entirely too many boards and the broad categories (that can be expanded) are annoying to navigate. I would guess most of us only frequent certain boards so why we can't pull those out entirely is a mystery to me.
As far as the favorite conversations thing goes, I have a couple but I never check that. I like certain boards... and ALL the threads on those boards are important to me. It'd be impossible to mark all as favorites!
I think it's sad that women who are new to this board aren't getting the full advantage of those of us who have "been there, done that" because we are exasperated with navigating this new format.

Poppy and others, we totally agree that customizing the list of topics would be helpful. This along with other improvements like RSS are on our list of things we hope to get to over the next several months. In the meantime, ravdeb's suggestion is a great one to keep things a bit more manageable. We'll keep everyone updated as we are able to add some of these new features.
