I watched Sara Snow the other night and the show was about substituting natural alternatives for chemical OTC medicines we commonly use. She interviewed the staff at Traditional Medicinals about how they make their various teas and they sound wonderful, though a bit pricey for everyday consumption. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has tried any of the teas. Her show focused, specifically, on Smooth Move, intended to relieve constipation. I'd like to try one of the ginger teas or the Chai:

    Hi Marin,

I have the Organic ginger aid and think it's delicious. I can't say whether it works medicinally though since I drink it only occasionally.

File this next paragragh under TMI---For 'smooth moves', I don't have problems in general and especially since my heart doctor has me taking an extra 15 grams of soluble fiber to help lower my cholesterol, I don't think I'll have any problems in the near future-lol. I take a combo of fibersure(tasteless powder made of inulin which is good for your beneficial digestive bacteria) and metimucil which has a good combo of soluble and insoluble(adds bulk to stool) fiber. From what I've read, most of us can benefit from extra fiber. And it doesn't cause the opposite problem but you should build up slowly.

    Hi Marin,

I swear by the Throat Coat tea -- most other people I've recommended it to just don't like slippery elm tea or lozenges -- but for me it's the best, especially when you're having unproductive coughing fits from throat irritation and dryness.

Marin, I use that brand but I prefer Yogi brand for some odd reason. Both are good though. Never tried smooth move but have the echinacea and throat coat and now I'm into kava (Yogi) as I need to relax!!! :-/

I like the throat coat as well.  Not the greatest tasting, but it sure does work.
