The March of 40,910, Washington D.C.
This is directed at the moderators.
I would like to request that you have your people figure out a way to set up a seperate forum for The March on Washington that is to happen in June 2008.
This is a non-profit, non-fundraising, non-supported, not backed by anyone grass roots movement that got started right here in the "Recurrence and Metastatic Disease" threads of Breastcancer.org.
This is a real, live movement that is going to accomplish this task in honor of the 40,910 women who die each year from this plague.
We need your help. Please set up a forum exclusively for this use.
Sincerely,
Bimmer (husband of one of the 40,910)

Bimmer's right. There needs to be a separate section for these posts. I know requests were made back in December and the response from the mods seemed favorable. If there is a reason for the delay, please let us know. If the mods have decided against creating a separate forum/subforum, it would be nice to know that, too.
It is really important to many of us that this march occurs. I imagine if we are unable to get a forum here, there are other places to set one up. If we need to do that, fine....BUT LEAVING US HANGING IS REALLY UNACCEPTABLE. WE DESERVE AN ANSWER TO THIS REQUEST THAT HAS BEEN MADE NUMEROUS TIMES. Affirmative or negative, we WILL go on with the plan. BCO will lose visitors if they must visit another site for planning/updates. The purpose of the march seems in line with BCO's mission statement. Spreading information and support to as many poeple possible is the goal, right?
PLEASE AT LEAST GIVE US AN ANSWER.

Mods,
Please set up a forum for our Memorial March 2008. We really need the space and availability of the threads to organize all the details.
The permits have been sent to DC already and talk is now underway of setting up a Memorial Fund account, t-shirts are being planned, and committees are being formed.
I have emailed Melissa numerous times about this and she said she contacted her techs to get started on this for us.
Please, please help get this forum started for us.
Thanks for all your hard work!! We really appreciate it!

Amen. Please set up a special place for us on the boards so we can organize. It will really help for those people who'd like to be a part of this and honor those whom we've lost to breast cancer.
Thanks. (I suspect this is just a technical problem and nothing more...hopefully it will be taken care of.)

Yes, having our own place to discuss and organize would be so helpful. If we are going to do this, and I think we will, it's going to take a huge amount of time, organization and commitment from many people's families and schedules. I am certainly willing to give my time and energy to this. Please, moderators, give us a place to share ideas and work!
Thanks!
Susan

Please please set up another forum for this so that we can organize this march ... it will really help to raise awareness that bc and the pink ribbon are not pretty ... we lose way to many of our sister/brothers each year to this disease and need awareness that the pink ribbon is not pretty !!
Thanks mods ....

Dear Mods,
Our application for a permit for the Memorial March for 6/22/08 is currently being reviewed. We now have a contact person at the permit office in DC. I will be discussing the March with him tomorrow. Time is of the essense in getting our own forum for planning purposes.
Please try to set this up soon. We have so much planning to get started on.
Thanks for all your help.
Bren and all the Memorial Marchers!!!

Well, they are obviously reading something because they posted a response on the "improved search" thread here yesterday.
Mods, it is very important to so many here! I see that you started a "singles" forum; I had only seen a handful of requests for that one (I agree that it was needed!). So, it doesn't seem like such a big deal to add one for the March. If the date goes through, we're talking less than 6 months of planning that will be very hard to do without a dedicated forum here.
PLEASE at least let us know if you are going to start a forum for the march. If you aren't, we need to move on other options ASAP!

All, the moderators are aware of this request and are trying to find the best way to make this happen. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you so much!!! You guys are the best.
