deb - I think my all time favorite photo is the one of you on the beach with the "circle". Stay warm!
-
These pics are just so great - so good to see everyone, kids, hubbies, dog, cats.
We are certainly a strong group of beautiful ladies!

Thanks Laura...I love that photo too, but for some kind of weird reasons....Before I was diagnosed we had been tossing around the idea of going to Hawaii for Christmas the next year. My diagnosis was on Dec 7th, and that Christmas I told my family that I didn't care what happened, hell or high water we were going to Hawaii next winter. For a while it didn't look like I was going to be finished with my treatment in time, but it all worked out and my rads were finished the end of November and we went to Hawaii the first 2 weeks of December. It was there that I really started to feel like I might live through this...
One night my husband and I decided to go for a walk down to the beach and watch the sun set. My parents and the kids went to the pool so it was just the two of us. I was all the way down to the beach before I realized I forgot to put on my breast forms. I was all freaked out and self conscious, and suddenly I realized it didn't matter...that I was fine, I was with the man I love, I was walking on a beautiful tropical beach and people were smiling at me as we walked by because I was smiling at them. No one even gave me a second glance...and I loved it.
SO...when I look at that picture I see the rebirth of the realization that life is good, and that I was going to be just fine....
I love that picture too
Thanks
Deb C

That was me two weeks after being dx, when I was 26. I cut my hair off in anticipation of chemo. This is me one week post stage 2 nipple reconstruction, and about 5 months after finishing chemo.
-
Whenever I get on a roll with photobucket, then I seem to mess up, and I can't upload stuff. grrrrr. I'll try more later.
-
You look awesome!
-
Cute Beth! and nice nips.
I have to share some pics of my baby and post baby.
Here is our first Lab, Bailey (big fella he was), he passed away in 2004. He was a doll.
We were never going to get a dog again, and five months later we had Riley, a sweet dog as well and what a support for me during treatment:
above at 6 lbs
above 8 weeks
two years - has to be with his mama at all times (even when I am washing my face)- and below, loves the bathtub
-
Raye-How cute is that? Love him.
-
Thanks Brenda. He's my baby. Your dog is a cutie as well!
-
pepper - Awwwww....nice photo!
Beth - Wow...so real looking!
raye - He is a so cute!

Pepper, what a great pic of you and your son!! You can see the love!
Beth...I knew it...you are a hottie!! Your reconstruction gives me inspiration!
Raye, I had labs 3 altogether. Our first one died (hit and run) and we did the same thing..no dog..then we got another. I love labs, very loyal and so easy to train!

Me and BuddyLove the night before my 1st. Mast. Dh and I went to my favorite restaurant..Fondue! But I spent the previous week numb from news of the diagnosis. I can't believe I was smiling...I was in tons of pain from a huge Hematoma that developed after my biopsy-from-hell!
During chemo...
Took my Mom and nieces to Mexico after chemo ended and before radiation started.
We got temp tattoos...drew this on a napkin for the guy to copy
Last year in Mexico for my birthday. (raye - notice the beer!)
BuddyLove waiting for Santa
BuddyLove just waking up from a nap
BuddyLove after a haircut

Valerie - ha! Crazy dogs and their love of crotches.
Yes, I read Marley & Me and absolutely loved it. Drove my husband bananas reciting from the book.
Laura - What a gorgeous lady you are. I love your hair. And BuddyLove - was a handsome boy! Love his waking up picture. So innocent when they are tired, aren't they?
Love the beer shot - looks like you are having a great time.
Here is a very classy beer shot. All dressed up and drinkin' a Heiney on my wedding day.
-
Raye you are soooo cute. That photo was taken about 13 weeks after my initial mastectomies and DIEP.
I'm having so much trouble uploading more pics. I'm getting so frazzled over here.
I do have one more pic- I hope bco doesn't get mad at me for posting this-- BUT this picture was in SELF magazine, and BCO did have a link to the article so I can't imagine them being that mad...
this was taken one year after reconstruction- all phases finished.
-
Beth - you are beautiful! There are so many beautiful faces, cute kids, handsome hubbys and loveable fur babies here!
Here are me and hubby-to-be summer of 06 (I'd just had my exchange surgery):
My son and I with my grandmother a few weeks after she moved into a nursing home (I was wearing a prosthesis at the time):
Me with my first plastic surgeon at my 40th birthday party (six months before my IGAP):
I don't have any post IGAP pictures. Guess I'll have to take some! -
felicia your arms are diesel! WOW... talk about sexy-- sooo you lift weights how many days a week????
-
I'd put some on but I am completely computer illeterate and can't figure out how to do it.
-
Beth-you look wonderful. Thanks for sharing. I hope my final results are 1/2 that good. I would have to lose 50 pounds though. So far the swelling has gone down but is still there.
Felicita-Look at that smile!
