Now that she knows she has awards coming her way, I can show her all your messages!

Oh, and here's how kids are:  When I told her about the awards, she told my dad she WON.  When I asked if she knew if she got 1st, 2nd or 3rd and reminded her we haven't even gone to the awards.  She said, "Mom, I'm getting a trophy.  That's winning!"

    Kelly -

Teryn is so blessed to have you for her Mom...she will, no doubt, grow up to be a very compassionate and loving woman. Teryn and Mom...keep up the good work. I am so happy for you two!

Just thought I'd repost her project on this page.  I am so excited about Tuesday to see how she placed in this next level .... the letter came from Corona/Norco PTA so it must just be the city level.  Sunflower, that's a good idea about the newspaper and she'd be willing.

I love the final poster Teryn, but the original feathers were way cool too.

Last night, Teryn got her trophy for 1st place.  She also got a certificate of merit from the city council a few weeks ago.

Today, though, was the best.  Her teacher had her bring her project and award and she had to get up and tell them about her project and what it meant.

The first thing she said was:  I WANT TO THANK GOD for making my Mommy be ok.  She explained that I had cancer "but she's ok".  She told how she did the walk and took all the pics and that it for money so little girls and other mommies didn't get cancer. She talked about the pink ribbon and her Komen website and was so proud of her $180 raised to make a difference!

The other mom in the room helping out had colon cancer last year (2 out of the 20 moms, me and her have had cancer) ... well the two of us started bawling when T was thanking God and explaining her project.  Her teacher looked like she could have been hit with a brick. It was such an emotional speech for us to watch this calm little girl explain herself and her project.

Oh, and we didn't "rehearse" that .... I couldn't believe my ears to hear my shy child speak so confidently.  At first when she said "I want to thank God" I thought she was going to thank him for the trophy, like in Miss America ....  but it was for my health.  Really made my heart want to hug her at that moment ...

Oh, you must have been beaming with pride for your precious daughter.  How very mature she is.  Just keep doing whatever you are doing in raising your daughter.  She's already showing (in such a mature way) the compassion she has for other "mommies."

Congratulations, Teryn, for winning first place and for your certificate from the City Council.  You are such an inspiration to all of us.  Your unselfishness surely showed through when you gave your speech to your class.  How proud your mommy must be!

    Thanks Shirl!

MaryAnne, can you see in Teryn's project where I over there in the right, standing like you did on that mountain, with my "fists up" ? I did that thinking of you, our prize fighter!

Wow, that brought tears to MY eyes.  Imagine, thanking God for her mommy, not a prize!  that is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.

Teryn, congratulations on your fabulous poster and for being such a great support for your mom and all women.  I've watched you grow up in pictures for about 3 years now and you are turning into a beautiful person, inside and out.

Kelly, good job on raising such a fine young lady!
