prayers please

My son and pregnant daughter in law just found out today that they're both carriers for cystic fibrosis.  Which from what I found out reading about it about 50% of the people are.  And of that 50% half of the people actually get it and half don't.  But since both of them are carriers chances are the baby will be born with it.  They go later this week for a test on the baby.  So please say a prayer that everything is okay.  I know that they can live long lives with this, average age is 37, but it just scares me for them.  Thanks!

    I will say a prayer for your son and daughter in law. Thats so scary I really hope they find a cure for MS soon. Pearl

    Juanita,

    Saying  a prayer for your grandbaby. CF is really scary. We have a good friend who's grandson has it. He is around 6 years old and is doing well. There is hope on the horizon for this disease.

    Juanita,

    Both my exhusband and myself were carriers of another rare genetic disease. My son has the disease; my daughter does not.  It is hard to handle as a parent as you just had no idea.  .

    My heart breaks for you, your son and DIL.  Lets pray that this child will be one that doesn't receive CF and they then can decide if they want to try for additional children.

    Prayers to you and your family, Juanita!

    I have 2 close friends with CF...39 years old and 42 years old.  While they have to give themselves medication eachday, they both are living happy productive lives (and both have children of their own!)
