dEB, I sent a pic email to you but hope you can see it .... otherwise I put it here so you can see what kind of hairstyle would look cute.  Straight and I think it'd be pretty with your white   hair.

Thanks Kelly! hmmm.... I'd have a lot of growing out to do with that haircut. It IS cute BUT it would mean taking care of it every morning.

I'm a lazy bum and need a "do" that I don't "do" anything to, if you know what I mean!!!!!

I confess...I do not even own a comb or brush. I use fingers only and sometimes some hair cream. Embarassed I sometimes dry my hair with the blowdryer but that's only if I need to leave the house early and it's cold out. Otherwise, I prefer to let it dry naturally as it seems to lay better.

I like the color stuff..the chunky stuff. Just that I'm sooooooooooooooo white and I already have black (my original hair color) underneath the white so when I use hair creams, the black shows and my hair looks grayer.

I hope that my hair dilemma is the biggest problem I have in 2008.Laughing HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!!

Really, your hair is still short?  except for my bangs, which I kept cutting, I could do that doo.

Chunky, punky, funky! Caramel, platinum, brunette...the BEST thing about hair color changes are that THEY CAN BE CHANGED if you don't like them. Hey...what the heck...try something you like (you've earned that privilege) and if you end up not liking it...try something else! I'm ready for a big change...SOON! And I've been absorbing all these ideas...

Guess what ...... the best thing, WE HAVE HAIR!!!  And as we know, it grows back if you have to cut it in a way you don't like!

Just wondering if Amy is ever lurking around. None of us has heard from her in a long while. Hope her and hubby had a nice Hanukkah and New Years!

    hi ladies,

i do lurk now and again! i've been busy and loving life these days. i want to stay in touch through the gmail chat you guys do...let me know how to join.

things are great here. i've been running a lot and doing boot camp at the gym and have lost weight and feel really strong. my hubby and i are enjoying our time together and spend most weekends together or with our best friends. we have lots of trips planned this year....we're going to vegas in march (woo hoo!) and then to france for 3 weeks in may :) i'm learning french as part of my new year's resolutions, so i can be prepared (my husband is fluent).

my puppy is no longer a puppy at 55 pounds. she's 8 months and so freakin' fun. just a beautiful dog.

i had my 6 month follow up appt. in december and knock on wood, things were still fine. i had a bit of a cancer meltdown after that appt. because after not seeing my onc. for 6 months, to see her again brought it all back and i fell apart. my parents and husband were really supportive and helped me catch my breath and pull it back together. sucks that sometimes it hits full force that yes, i'm a cancer survivor, but i catch my breath and then go back to living my life :)

so, let me know how to keep in touch better and i promise i will :) i think about you all a lot and hope all are well and healthy :)

    love,

    amy

Amy...great to see you here! I sent you an e-mail. Reply to all and you will be a part of the running messages....

I know how sometimes after a follow up it hits home ...all that we went through. But like you said, we just kinda need to get through that and then go back to life.

Be well. Sounds like you are doing great!

All the Rocktober sisters are doing well. I'm speaking for them but I think they will agree!

You're right, Deb! I think all of us are really doing great! Even me, after Round 2 with the beast! I'm feeling so much stronger and happier. I tried to describe the feeling to a friend this way: "It's like I'm a sprouting daffodil bulb buried in the ground. I can almost feel the clods of dirt falling off my shoulders as I reach up towards the sun."

Glad to hear from you Amy!

Cindy .... you make a beautiful daffodil!

That's the flower I always get at the dr's ...  I think the ACS distributes it to cancer patients.

went to church today and saw a lady with our very expensive haircut that we had last year. You know, the one where you have about an inch of hair all over?!  Not our former bald look.

I saw her and watched to see that she came back from communion.  As I walked back to my seat, I looked her right in the eyes instead of looking away.  After Mass was over, I made a b-line to her and said, "I noticed your haircut." And she said she had chemo and lost her hair.  I explained I had the same look about year ago.  Funny, it was, she said she was looking at me, noticed my HAIR and said she couldn't wait for hers to be like that, it was the way she wore her hair normally.  My hair is all almost the same length now, about to hit the shoulders, trying to grow out the bangs ... they are too long for bangs and I wear them to the side.

Now, right now, I just noticed we didn't exchange names. She is done with treatment, though. I will look for her again.  I told her I was proud of her wearing her hair.  It was pure white.  I told her mine had been white too but the color came back.  She was excited about that.

I also got an email today from my step sister.  Her friend (so has to be in her late 30's) has been dx'd with bc.  She gave her my email.  Not sure how I feel about that .... I referred her to bc.org.  I'm not sure I could "mentor" anyone thru this ....

You guys are so sweet.  My dad had that printed on canvas and brushed with a clear paint so even tho it's really a photo printed on canvas, it now looks like a painting!   I just have to get it framed and matted.

thanks Jacqui for checking in on us ... Hope you are doing well.

    Hi Merlin,

Armidex is for post menopausal women and has shown tremendous promise over Tamoxifen in preventing reoccurance.
