O/T - Fun with Multimedia
Comments
-
I recently bought a new laptop with some great multimedia applications, and with a few days off from work, I have made some fun videos of our puppy, Coco, my trip to Japan, and of the beloved pets our family lost in 2007.
So, I thought I'd share them with my cyber-sisters...
Click on the link and scroll down to the bottom where the videos are available:

Donna, i tried to view them on a PC but i was unable to do so. I did get to "Donna's Space" and saw the icons of the globes with the titles of your public files, but when i click on them it gives me file info about them, however, i am unable to open them. Perhaps i don't have the right software or maybe i am supposed to do something with the file info (looks like the info on Photobucket when you are transferring an image to a board to post). Do you know what software i need? thanks! I would love to see your animals again.

edited to add--i should try this on my MAC too.

Celia, you got to Donna's space, clicked on one of the icons, clicked again on the small icon of baloons, then saw that Photobucket-ish page. On that page, you have to click on the large icon of baloons once again. The video clip should start playing if you have Windows Media Player which should be installed on your PC as default. Her clips are least likely to be seen on a Mac as the default movie player on a Mac is QuickTime which doesn't support wmv files.
Oh by the way, Coco is such a cutie!

Fumi, thanks for the instructions. I was finally able to open them, but it did not happen easily. I clicked on the large icon of the balloons and a window came up asking me how I wanted to open the files. I clicked to open them with wmv and the box went away and i had to re-click the large icon again and that same window came back and i clicked it again and suddenly the wmv window came and played the files. When i quit the wmv, the last box i had clicked was still there and i had to close it and go back to choose another file. I don't think that is the way it is supposed to happen, but it worked and i got to see Donna's creations. i had to do that each time for each one. weird, but at least it worked. thanks!!
Donna, thank you for sharing with us. I really loved to see the pics of Sybil again...i loved that cat! I loved the ones from Japan and seeing you and Fumi having fun.....also the pics of Mt. Fuji--one of my cats is named after that mountain.

Donna, those were great.
That new puppy of yours is a riot. You should put that on Youtube. Coco doesn't look real! She looks like she is from a toy store.
I really cried at your lost pets. I love the song you picked. VERY MOVING.
Made me think of all my lost pets.
Thanks Fumi for the instructions on how to open!

Thanks Fumi, Celia and Gina!
I had a lot of fun making the videos and had to use a beta product from Microsoft called "Skydrive" to upload them - I should have known there would be issues trying to open them. Thank goodness we have Fumi as our resident tech support guru!
I'm sitting on the tarmac, headed off to work after a nice long holiday break, and I miss those puppies already!!
Editing to add: I used the word "puppies" instead of "puppy, because we bought a new Maltese puppy on Friday. She's teeny tiny, her name is "Missy" and Coco thinks she's a toy for her to play with! (I'll post a picture soon.) The reason we got her is that Coco had such a ball playing with my brother's dog, Buddy, and because it has finally taken my mom's mind off of her grief over my ex-SIL's case. My mom hasn't slept much in two days, but as my father said to me on the way to the airport today, she hasn't mentioned the state of Georgia either. That alone is worth more than anything money could ever buy!
hugs,

Oh Donna..I just cried so hard at beloved pets..I miss Sybil - your avatar and I remember when you posted the pic of her riding with the bike...I had been thinking of my 2 kitties that I grew up with - they were sisters from the same litter and both got the same kind of cancer 1 year apart from each other after my mom was dxed...
But then I watched Coco and I smiled again
Love Marisa
