My mother in law started hospice

Hi,
My husband and I are going to PA tomorrow to see my MIL. She has throat cancer and has had emphysema for years now. Basically they told her it was inoperable and to advanced to do anything with. They only recommended radiation to try to shrink the tumor. She lost most of the use of her voice. She stopped the radiation because she could not take it. Hospice has been called in so we know we are nearing the end. My FIL passed 16 years ago and I know she wants to go be with him. She is in her mid 80's and feels ready to go. I am posting to ask all of you ladies to please pray for her that God takes her quickly and without to much discomfort. Thanking you in advance.

Your MIL sounds at peace, looking forward to being reunited with her DH.
May her passing over be calm, with scent, soft light, soft music surrounded by loved ones.
Thinking of your DH and you too Barb, during this journey.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and your sympathy. I am really missing her today. I thought I was doing ok and handling it very well and then all of sudden I think it hit me. We are having the funeral on Thursday. I know she is in a better place but its really hard losing someone you have known for over 20 years.

I'm so sorry, Barb. It is very hard when someone is just a part of your life and then she is gone. I will say that she was lucky to have such a loving daughter-in-law. That's not always the case in families.
Hang in there....

Her funeral was really lovely. It was very "her". We all participated in the service and I'm sure she was looking down on us all and was happy.
Thanks again everyone.

Sorry for you loss. I lost my mom to BC on Sept 10, 2006. At least these ladies are not suffering anymore.
Now I have the disease but I am doing well and I have a great prognosis but it is hard to explain to my little boy that even though Grandma's gone, mom is going to be ok.
God bless you and your family.
