HELLO to you, and you, and you...

So...Lately, I have been toying around with the idea of coming back to this site, after several sisters asked me to do so; I moved on but part of me has always been here.
The bottom line is that no matter how many months have passed since I left, there hasn't been one day that goes by without me wondering how "you" are doing. My body might have left, but my heart and soul have always been here.
So sorry to see many sisters joining the Garden of Angels, and others getting acquainted with all there is to learn about BC.
To the "old sisters" I say: "Hey, whatzzzz up!?!?!"
To the "new": "Nice to meet you; so sorry you ended up here."
Let's all have a Happy, HEALTHY, new year.
Thanks,
Always me.
"Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
BUT.........
Sisters are there,
no matter how much time and how
many miles are between you.
A girl friend is never farther away
than needing her can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you
have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life
will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,
praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on
your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the
valley's end.
Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk
beside you...Or come in and carry you out.
Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers,
Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended
family, all bless our life!
The world wouldn't be the same without women, and
neither would I. When we began this adventure called
womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or
sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we
would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still.
Pass this on
to all the women who help make your life meaningful.
I just did.
Short and very sweet:
There are more than twenty angels in this world.
Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds.
Nine are playing.
And one is reading this post at this moment."

NbN .. Welcome back. I'm only 9 months into this ugly journey but I have met a lot of wonderful women on this site who've helped me along and I don't know where I'd be without them. Nice poem.
My good friend Cheri says to tell you she understands your point now.

Lilia, welcome back - things could use some livening up around here, and you're just the one to do it.
Denisa, haven't seen your avatar around much either. Glad you're back too! (Actually, I've been thinking of you lately since there were two recent posts on the lymphedema board about mammograms either causing or worsening lymphedema, and I remember we'd discussed that a long time ago. Aaugh! Drop by if you have a minute and see what you think.)
Welcome, welcome!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Buckle your seat belts, it looks like we're in for quite a wild ride with this one.
I'll take it, Lilla! Welcome back; you've clearly been missed and for those of us who didn't have the pleasure, well now we'll have the anticipation!
Happy New Year!
Tender -
Well, Lilla, you have now put up a great expectation. And from past experience, as Tender said, it's gonna be a bumpy ride and oh, what a ride with you can be---so much fun.!!!
Welcome back and SO glad to see ya.

Lilia!!!!! I haven't posted here in months, but I was so excited to see your name when I popped in here today! You have been missed, girl!
How is your daughter? Your girl and mine are the same age, so we can commiserate about living with a teen!
WELCOME BACK!
Sue -
Hey Sue,
Not to change the subject, but I saw your name and was wondering if you got the pkg I sent.
Thanks,
Bren

Hi Bren,
I did get it! You should have received the thank you note that I sent by now. Thanks for thinking of me...the gift was very cute and it was very sweet of you to send it!
Hugs,

Hello girls!
Yes I am back! Older, wiser and heavier!
Sense of humor?! Still the same!
Since we last spoke, some of you know that I moved from NJ to MA! 21 years I lived in NJ!
Yes, I am now a huge fan of the New England Patriots; I even went to see a game at the Gillette stadium. Yummy, yummy to my tummy all those tights and bulging... pads! My other teams are also the Giants (off course), the Seahaws... and because I am a sucker for the "weaker teams", got to love the Dolphins too this year!
So, I have been living in MA since the end of June. Took me two months and 1/2 to nail a job... in Hartford, CT. So my commute is a hour a day each way, but done very nicely half by car, half by bus (my private chauffeur!). Before I got this job, I went through a period of grieving and sadness, accompanied by my every day monster... my chronic depression! Bill ("Mr. Tinkerbell") never knew what to expect upon getting home as I cried from morning till night. I even lost weight (to have it all back plus some more!). I am now all fine, back to the naughty self I can be sometimes...!
Jade (my beautiful 12 year old) is attending private school; had a rough start, wherein the girls from her new school were trying to mark down their territory! I end up sending to the school 2 "killer" letters wherein in between lines the word "lawsuit" was implied... one day she even came home w/ a bruised arm!!!!!!!!! Well, I have to use that law background I have for something, right?!
Meanwhile things calmed down for Jade, her grades have been good and she is in the basketball team. Jade is 12 and 5'5' already... surpassed me already by 1/2 an inch... My bones are starting to go small on me! The length of my pants finally looks good without having to do any alterations (I used to have long legs)! LOL
My mother, my rock, has finally retired and moved back to Portugal as of 2 days ago!
Now in the USA, it is just Jade and I (blood related) and Arthur (the dog) too!
Arthur loves the new house, has not run away but once, about a couple of weeks ago when he pulled a sneaky on Bill! We love going on the backyard and playing and walking our Arthur (who this year turns 10). Not lately thou b/c here it snows a lot!!!!!!!!! I am so ready for the summer months that it is not funny anymore!
Turned 41 in Nov. and just had my 4th year check up; all is fine and NED, the only tinny thing are cysts... 3 to talk about on my grapefruit (remember I put on weight) and 1 on my orange! There are many more but nothing to write home about like I said. Not doing any fine needle aspiration or anything like 2 years ago! I w/ sit tight and wait to see if anything changes... it should not!
So, what have you girls been up to? From England to Japan, what are the news? I still have the same personal e-mail but I guess here it is easier to keep up with each other.
I missed you all tremendously. There has not been a day that I don't think of "A", or "B" or "C"... BC is our relation to each other and it will always be for the rest of our lives. Our kindness and warm hearts another bond.
Tried other sites, but nothing like coming back "home" to my girls!
Thanks for your kinds words, thanks for welcoming me back, and let the good healthy fun and kindness begin again.
My love to each of you,
Always me,
-
Lilia!
My Jersey Girl friend! I popped in here today to do a little reading about the BRCA gene, and stop by to see what some of the ladies I know are up to. I have given up on online support group/discussion boards for the most part, because the fighting is too hard for me to deal with. By that I mean it makes me feel sadder than I think it reasonably should to "hear" these women who I think I've come to know and be friends with being hurtful, angry or upset with each other. In any event, I popped in here today and what a surprise it was for me to see NbN. I thought to myself, can that be Lilia?
I remember the first year we did holiday cards, and you got mine and you called me right up to talk to me! We had a fun conversation (remember my Warren is 11, close to Jade) and I can still remember that you absolutely made my day that day. I'm glad to hear you moved up to MA (you were still in NJ when we talked.) I'm in Framingham, and if I remember correctly you are in Longmeadow or thereabouts? If I ever take Warren out that way (I went to UMASS Amherst, and have often thought of taking a drive out there to show him where I went to school) I would love to look you up.
OK, well, I'm off to post my question about genetic testing. It was really nice to see your post. It sounds like things are going well for you, I hope you have a wonderful 2008!

Lilia,
You are in MA now? I'm in NH! I'm so glad to hear that things are better for Jade now. Middle school is the pits, isn't it?
Colleen, it's so good to see you! I haven't posted here in a long time either, mostly because the drama was getting to me too!
If you girls ever want to do a MA/NH get-together, keep me in mind!
Hugs,
Sue -
Hello there NbN great to see you! Things just have not been the same without you. I always enjoy getting your emails to update me but now I can see updates here also. I haven't been around on these boards a lot due to the drama (I know that surprises you) but got word that you were here and had to drop in.
As someone mentioned before lots are older and wiser now and have learned a lot.
Great to see you!
Amy
