Does anyone know whether Ice Milk is still available?  I remember it as a kid and of course Id put chocolate syrup on it.  That makes everything taste better right?Laughing

I have been craving it of late and I dont want to buy ice cream cause then I will go haywireSealed.

I live in the San Diego area.  Anyone knows of a place, Im ready to go TODAY.

    From Wikipedia:

Ice milk or iced milk is a frozen dessert with less than 10 percent milk fat and the same sweetener content as ice cream. Ice milk is typically priced lower than ice cream and is typically sold as a generic product.  In the United States, the term is now virtually unknown. A 1994 change in Food and Drug Administration rules allowed ice milk to be labeled as low-fat ice cream.  Within months, the term "ice milk" virtually disappeared from store shelves.

Products containing less milk fat but higher sweetener content are sold as sherbet, and products with no milk fat or dairy analogues are sold as sorbet. Products which use nonfat or lowfat yogurt or dairy analogues are sold as frozen yogurt

I remember going with my mom to do my grandmother's grocery shopping. Ice milk and Tang were her staples. I loved both as a kid! I do remember tasting a low fat ice cream recently(can't remember which though!) and thinking it reminded me of ice milk. I think you need to let it sit out in your bowl at room temp for awhile to get the texture right.
