Hi everyone,
2 years ago today was my "world stopped" day. I was innocently taking my shower, getting ready for work, and much to my horror and surprise, Mr lump was discovered. My husband is calling today my "findaversary".
Since that fateful day I have gone through all the usual fun involved plus various mets scars. I have obsessed about my hair and developing lymphedema and I have developed an underactive thyroid. Lucky me because I was a person that really tried to avoid all things medical (at least until I had kids and was visiting a doctor about once a month).
As bad as it has gotten for me, today I wake up and feel pretty darn close to my old self. I have a lot of things going on in my life not BC related and am keeping myself in a pretty good mood. 2 years ago I would have never imagined coming this far after being dx'd. (I hope I did not just jinx myself, that would be typical for my luck).
I have lots of good wishes for everyone on these boards, this board has been a wonderful place for me to visit.
Happy New Year !!!

Congratulations! I'm at my 3 year findaversary (you and I have a similar dx) and I do my best to ignore, as often as possible, the fact that I had BC!

It was three years ago for me. I believe I got my biopsy report about three days after Christmas. What a gift, huh?
Here's to the REST OF YOUR LIFE without breast cancer and a NEW YEAR!

Celia,
You flatter me so much. I WISH I looked 20 but hey, I accept the compliment and say thank you. I am just glad that outwardly, BC has not aged me too much, yet.
Shirley,
Yep, what a christmas gift it has been and it keeps giving in all sorts of ways.

Congratulations, Newter. I hope it never rears it's ugly little head again and you have many many more findaversaries.
I like your new avatar - it's true, you do look so young!!!!!
-
Congratulations. Many more findaversaries to come for you, Newter.
I've just passed 3 years, and each year finds me more distanced in thought from my "world stopped" day. May the same be true for you.
